Jade was raised on an otherwise uninhabited island by a dog. Thus her only knowledge of the outside world comes from the internet, and specifically her "knowledge" of sex and relationships comes entirely from fanfiction. Consequently, she believes that yaoi is the normal relationship for males, and is surprised when John and Dave fail spontaneously start making out.
