State of The Pitch
Hello and Welcome to Members Old and New,
We would like to give you an update on site progress and update you on changes.
We've been officially open for four months and currently have 78 Authors, 835 members, and 1373 stories. We are very excited by the response to the site and are looking forward to archiving even more of your work.
We now have a wonderful staff of beta readers. All stories as they are submitted are sent by The Captains and Quidditch Coordinators to our Quidditch Assistants. They are beta read and repost to the Queue for posting.
We've added four new members to our staff:
Kerryblaze has joined us as an Admin and Moderator. She's been a brilliant addition to the team.
Dream_Wia_Dream has joined us as Web Mistress. She is making the site easier to work with and is going to be making changes to the skin and some wonderful upgrades.
Rondastarr and Griffindorstudent have joined us as a Quidditch Coordinators. They will be assisting the Captains in approving stories, sending them to our Quidditch Assistants and moderating the forums.
We are in the process of setting up a Content Management site using PhP Nuke. This will replace our Yahoo Group and act as the Main area for site news and content. Our story and forum site will still be seperate. We are also hoping to upgrade to a larger server as soon as we locate the perfect host.
In the coming months we will be adding an Art Gallery that will feature a different artist each month, A fanzine type blogger which we feel will be unique as we will be accepting fan articles from both our staff and readers, and a Cafe Press Store from which the proceeds will go to different Charities. Within the Year we'd like to also include a podcast featuring readings of our Featured Stories, Live interview with Authors, and General Fandom talk.
We are planning on attending Phoenix Rising and hope to host a roundtable or workshop there. Hopefully we'll get to meet a great many of you in person.
