There was no mess to clean up!

I love how pastoral this starts, like looking down at Syrup from a great height, seeing the shore and green fields and little houses, and then it's like we swoop in and everything comes more into focus, with the old school and Usopp's house and the villagers going on with life as usual. The little tidbits about Carrot, Onion and Pepper were so sweet, and their sniping at Usopp-- haha! And your interpretation of Kaya is brilliant. And it's like the world gradually sharpens to that one moment when they finally reunite... :D A perfect read for a cold, winter day.

And-- oh ho ho, those six months are really going to be something. <3

I seem to enjoy starting out far away and zooming in to small details. That's how most of the beginnings of stories in my head start anyway.

Aww, this was lovely - very sweet and slow. I agree with bluewalk in that the pastoral way you set up Syrup was really lovely. I always love reading fics with their own take on it, and I particularly like the more idyllic takes on it. Great job on your first OP fanfic!

Thank you very much! Most fanfiction seems to have a darker more angsty tone so I felt it needed to have something lighter. Plus happy endings are a favorite of mine.
