That's really interesting stuff. Thanks for posting it! Years ago, one of my cats got out and went to live with some other people for a while; when I finally caught up with her, she acted like she didn't know me, and they kept saying, are you sure this is your cat? Very embarrassing.
Oh sure, as soon as I got her home to her brother and she'd had a little time to reacclimate. This is one of the cats that went to live with my folks, later on, and was such good company for my dad while he was sick. She's with mom now and going strong (and noisy) at 19.
She's also got a chip, if it should happen again. She had one then, but the people who found her didn't think to take her to someone who would scan it; they just posted a notice at ACC. She'd managed to ditch her collar, one of her little skills.
All of which reminds me that I still haven't chipped the Little Grey Girlfriend. Need to do that.
