The perfect evening

What would constitute a "perfect" evening for you?

My "perfect" evening? An evening where the baleful moon draws a shroud o'er her bloated face, and leaves these cursed bones with their due pound of flesh.

If ever you have need of anything
to ask of the Mother, darksome and Divine,
once it be when the Moon is New,
for mine is the scourge, mine is the kiss...

The New Moon has always been my favorite time as well, for that is when the most powerful of Circles is cast. Would that ye would come to shore some night when it is just so. ;)

Audrey very quietly considers this response. Her Captain's curse is indeed a most unpleasant one, but she feels a sharp twinge of bittersweet affection for him all the same. He and she, it would seem, share a single ache: the wish to hide their true, skeletal faces.

How sad, yes. But how...how delightful that she should find another who is so at one with his...condition.

Oh, Captain. Sir...once again, you leave a girl speechless.

The moon's a harsh mistress to quote one singer and it's a shame that its beauty brings you only pain and bitterness. My hope is that someday you'll be able to see it in a more pleasing light.
