I am overjoyed to know that while half of you are whining about going half insane for a week, and the other half are gasping and wailing over more rampant godlessness on this montón de estiércol of a ship, the fact that I was attacked by an unaffected Inmate and eaten alive does not appear to be anything of import. Second, I was not scolding you, I was reminding you that this was an opportunity to exercise a little empathy for people you've killed in the past. I never blamed you for what happened - in fact, I remember saying specifically that I didn't blame you. I know you don't eat people.

If you don't want to find redemption, I don't believe it's something that can be forced on you. If you physically harm anyone else on board, for any reason other than the defense of yourself or an innocent third party, I will punish you. If you verbally abuse someone who did nothing to you, I will ask you to stop. But if you're willing not to go out of your way to antagonize me, I'll stop lecturing you and giving you these little assignments.
If, or when, you do want to change, I will be there to help you. But redemption not something you should choose looking for a reward or an easy way out of here. Redemption is a path, one you never truly leave. It's something I struggle with every day. It's hard, and it's painful, and it's not something to be undertaken lightly.
