I'm not in the fandom yet (though my brother devoted a lunch to explaining the mythos to me--also likes your "bald man theory"), but your points all sound good to me. For what it's worth. :)
The thing I'm most pleased about with this fandom is that it could be really dark, and there are certainly those aspects of it, but ultimately, you don't feel icky when it's over. I sort of left Dark Knight feeling "..uhhh..." like I needed to go watch a happy children's movie to get the dark cloud away. But Iron Man..it was more getting out of the movie and thinking "whoo!". This of course isn't the sole reason I like it (*points to icon* awww best buds), but it helps :D Anyway, I appreciate your comment :D
That's what is upsetting me about Transformers 2. Sam and Mikela are together for two years and are having relationship problems. That bugs me. There was the whole tension thing between them in the first movie and it was cute at the end. But now, we have to go through the drama and everything and of course since we can't possibly dislike the female it has to be all Sam's fault. And Sam's a good guy.
So in relation to Transformers, you know I can understand your agony over the relationship thing. And as for the Pepper arc reactor, yeah I had words for that when you first told me about it. That makes me so mad. And what's worse is the squeeing fangirls that are "like OMGZ isn't that so CUTE?!?!?! LOLZ" and everything else dumb.
Uhg.
I still want to see Indy 4 if nothing else for Mutt. Plus I have to see that famous fencing duel. I just have to not look when he gets stung by a scorpion or they ram the ark of the covenant. And the aliens...
Let's hope that Jon Favereau doesn't overdo the Iron Man movies. ~
Yeah, I hope there's more Hogan. I got all attached to him in the comics. His relationship with Pepper is actually really good. But yeah.. the best thing about Tony and Pepper is that they're not together and that there's all that sexual tension. I'm also going with that I think Favreau won't do the arc reactor with Pepper plot, that's.. a cheap shot
( ... )
Oh yes. Mister Bale is uber hot. He has been my number one favorite actor for a couple years now. The man can do little wrong in my book. Mister Downey is a very close second followed by Edward Norton and Shia LeBeouf
( ... )
I tried to start an applause for Gordon when he.. came back, you know. But no one else clapped. I was sad.
Anywho, yeah, that's the plotline I'd like to see, and it sounds like that's what they're talking about doing anyway? Hopefully. More bald bad guys. They're trying to take over the world.
I'm not wild about the 3-D thing myself. I'm not going to want to watch it in 3-D every single time, and when you don't watch it in 3-D, the effects look odd. As for IMAX, there isn't even an IMAX theater within a fifty-mile radius of where I live, so it won't do me any good.
What's this about Pepper getting an arc reactor? I'm not up on recent comics (no money!) so I get the feeling I'm missing a lot here.
I hope they continue with the sexual tension between, and not have an actual relationship, yet. Their banter in the movie was fun, but I really don't feel like dealing with a full-blown relationship between them, especially since such relationships inevitably go wrong in the next movie. I think they should follow the comics canon and go with the Happy/Pepper thing for awhile, since it could be another factor contributing to Tony's slide into alcoholism.
Yeah actually.. we don't have an IMAX around here anyway. I seriously didn't see the big deal with it. It was a big screen. So what?
And the arc reactor. *twitch* it's just bad. She was in a building that blew up and got hurt, so Tony said to do it. Yeah, it was just a lame plot trick. Like they ran out of ideas. (some of the recent issues are online if you want a peak, I can send)
And I also agree. Relationships tend to kill the stuff that everyone loved in the first movie about the two of them. It would just sort of be like hitting a brick wall and then going, now what? Because seriously.. what happens then? But yeah.. hopefully that's what they'll do, go with Happy and Pepper and just let things fall normally.
I admit, I'd like to see something in IMAX once, just to see what the big deal is. But it's really not worth what little money I have right now just to see something... bigger.
And I'd love a peak at some of the recent issues! Until I'm more stable financially, I can't buy anything. Yet. I'm morbidly curious about the Pepper-arc-reactor thing now...
The trick is to make sure that when the link comes up that it has a .com, and that the x's in the http are replaced with t's. I'm not sure why she did that, but.. that's ok. All the links work. You do have to download ComicRack for it, the link might be in there, but it's a nice reader and it's free :D
The Order is kind of strange, I didn't like it that much, it was sort of the wake of the Civil War. Invincible Iron Man is the arc reactor with Pepper business. And.. Viva Las Vegas is just kinda fun (and it's the artist I really like)
I just caught up on Fraction's IM series, and I like that Pep has her own device. I'm only okay with it because it's not technically a miniArc, it's just a REALLY POWERFUL MAGNET.
