In the late afternoon after Subala's return, she prepares a cup of tea with black tea, comfrey leaves, and honey. With her other hand she manages to grasp a medium-sized canvas bag.
And off she walks, balancing bag and tea, and heads to Eileen's room. She knocks on the door lightly with her elbow, trying not to be too loud.
"Eileen?"

"Oh," she added, holding up the mug of tea while simultaneously trying to hide the fact that there was a bandage around her wrist (and largely failing on this last, but at least the tea stayed upright). "I made you some tea. If you gotta fever this'll help."

"You sure? I don't wanna keep ya up if yer sick, but I wanted to make sure you were all right."
She at the moment had forgotten the bag in her other hand.

Subala frowned as Eileen hesitated as she looked to the window, but wasn't sure what to make of it, so she continued on with the conversation.
"Fishin's been good; we got the population down to slightly more normal level, but there's still a lot of fish. I'm only frustrated 'cuz I prepared a buncha saltfish to take to Vinay to sell, but obviously I didn't get to Vinay the way I wanted to, so now I'm stuck with all the fish. I... I ain't inclined to head back to Vinay anytime soon, but maybe I can at least sell some of it off in Iksay and Nor. And the point of saltfish is it keeps for awhile, so I got some time to figure it out."

She sighed. "But...there's a buncha monsters out in the forest and the plains right now, so I hear. I came here by boat; all the land caravans were refusin' to go north. I can handle myself, but I ain't keen on gettin' jumped every 10 feet I walk if all I wanna do is go sell some fish. I'll have to wait until travel by land's a little safer. I could go help hunt down the monsters first, though..."

"Now, I gave the Prince horehound once, which is bitter as hell, but I ain't found nothin' better for keepin' yer throat'n chest clear." She paused. "Well, I'm just learnin' this stuff myself. My mate Frida was teachin' me. She serves as ship's doc. But I don't give anybody anything I ain't sure about. The old admiral... I mean, the woman who used to lead my hometown... she was always drinkin' some kinda tea or another. I decided I wanted to figure out what all that stuff did."

"Well, I'll let ya rest. Stay well, and I'll let ya know when it looks good to set off to Iksay."
((I'll post something to the com in a couple days about going off to Iksay.))
