I was a bit surprised but it seemed to make sense to me. This arc has been about Giles in a mini crisis and yet doing quite well mentally. I'm sort of proud of him for striking out.

Whether it's a good thing, I don't know yet.

I think Giles is equating the two manipulations too. Even though one was for clearly for his own benefit and the other, less so.

I like how Appleby handled the situation. :)

Can't blame Giles for being angry, especially since he does seem to be making progress.
Looking forward to see how Buffy (and the others) deal with this.

Appleby isn't so close to Giles that it clouds his thinking. He will rationally wait and hear his side of the story before making any judgements. Willow and Xander made a poor showing but for the very best of intentions. Giles was probably too hyped/stressed/tired to explain it all again properly.

Time for Buffy to return.

Yeah, the communication between Giles and Willow/Xander was kinda off on both sides, even though they all meant well.

I finally just got the chance to catch up and holy... Just everything about this series is brilliant. And with this revelation for Giles, I can't wait to see what's coming next. And how this is gonna impact Giles' already strained relationship with Buffy.
