She gets my jokes, spots all my references, and never fails to give thoughtful, supportive and honest feedback. All this, and she's not even a slash fan.
So, this one is based on

I read Sea of Sand again last week and enjoyed it even more than the first time around. It was wonderful to re aquaint myself with the charaters. Its a marvellous story. So original with beautifully described locations a real feel of the place and the desert and the heat and the smells. The original characters are wonderful and interesting and its just the right mix of good plots and breath stealing sex and the image of Legolas entwined in the jasmine is one that will be with me till my dying day. Just fantastic.

It's good to be writing in this particular scenario again. I'd thought I was through with LotR altogether, but writing about the south, while I'm living here in the desert, is proving to be very satisfying. I hope there may be more after this short three-parter.

You do not know how happy you have made me with this. Kallim is one of my all-time favorite OC's, and I would gladly read a novel length story about Kallim and Gedrinel, no pointed ears in sight. **grin** Now I need to go read 'Sea of Sand' again, just because.
Thank you for another glimpse into this world!
**hugs**

I love writing Kallim - and it seems to come very naturally, especially as I'm living in the desert these days! Plus, it's always fun to revisit characters and see how they've been getting on in my absence...

Recently I re-read almost the whole cycle, starting with Sealonging and ending with Sea of Sand. The latter remains one of my all-time favourite pieces of fiction because it's so incredibly well-written.
I'm looking forward to reading the other parts of Silver. And I'm still hoping that maybe some day you will give us the sequels to Vision - I would love to see how our heroes deal with Gedrinel's formidable sister (and vice versa!) *g*

I hope the rest of this little piece will amuse you. I'm not sure where it came from, since I haven't written anything in this universe for such a time, but I have to say I'm enjoying it.
The problem with the Imrahil100 sequence is, I'm finding it terribly hard to write the team in the frozen north while I'm down here in the desert. Hot and steamy Umbar is a much easier world to imagine myself into. However, I haven't entirely given up hope for the I100 thing, so watch this space.

I loved all the descriptions of the souk, but especially this:
A group of small boys, scarlet from head to foot, were having the time of their lives
I can hear them laughing. Is this the silver that Gedrinel was wearing at the Yuletide celebrations in the Imrahil challenge? And is the forthcoming journey the long-awaited trip to the North?
And how is Kallim planning to make the 'serious' money?

I hope this effort is acceptable - I know you wanted me to write Leggy, and I tried, really I did, but it just wouldn't happen, I'm afraid. I've spent a lot of time in the souks here recently for one reason or another, and the word 'silver' took me right there, with Kallim large as life in my head. What's a woman to do?
Still, this whole exercise is re-awakening my interest in the post LotR (or more accurately post SoS) universe, so who knows what will happen next.
As for your questions, this story is set some time after the events of Yuletide and the planned trip north to Gedrinel's family home. I hope to fill in the gaps at some point, but can't guarantee it.
And Kallim making money for Gedrinel? By a bit of wheeler-dealing in the markets, naturally. ;-)
