Harry Potter and note

Aug 03, 2007 17:02

I’m up on Mount Desert Island in Maine this month with my parents and, at various points in time, a large portion of my extended family. It’s my dad’s youngest sister, her autistic daughter and her husband right now. There’s no internet connection at the house, so I'm searching for wireless networks to connect my laptop to (that’s something my old ( Read more... )

Enjoy Maine. :D

I didn't really buy Harry-is-a-horcrux theories either; I mean, making a horcrux is supposedly really difficult, so it's... odd for it to just accidently happen. But whatever, I was fine with how she handleded it. I like Dumbledore more too, and Dumbledore/Grindelwald is DEFINITELY ftw.

"NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU BITCH" -is- just that awesome.

Thanks. It's nice so far. ^^

We seem to have very similar opinions on Harry Potter in almost all cases. Perhaps we should investigate possible unconscious mind control.

I really liked "The Forest Again" myself. Simple, clean and powerful writing. Sometimes Rowling gets a little too flowery and purple prose-ish, but her writing is the most powerful when she's keeping the style simple (like the Godric's Hollow graveyard visit.)

I had no idea Molly Weasely was so powerful. I suppose there's a reason she's a member of the Order of the Phoenix, although I do sorta think there should have been a hint somewhere that she was a talented duelist.

Dumbledore + Grindlewald! One of my friends is writing a background friendship story for them.

The epilogue sucked, IMHO.

I agree with you about Rowling's writing.

I assumed that Molly must have had some talent, what with being in the Order like you said, and she seems very good at the magic she uses around the house, so I wasn't really surprised that she had that in her.

Sounds neat. If I ever were to take up reading Harry Potter fanfic, I would start with Dumbledore and Grindlewald.

A lot of people feel that way, it seems. I suppose I must be easy to please.

Ooh, hope you're having fun in Maine =)

And in regards to DH-- Apparently I'm not as emotional as nearly the entire rest of HP fandom, since I didn't cry-- although I did tear up at a couple spots. Molly Weasley was awesome, as was Neville XD

I wasn't really a fan of the Snape/Lily thing initially, but I'm starting to warm up to it a bit more. I did like the Snape backstory, though. I had a very mood-swingy sort of reaction to Dumbledore-- I LOVED him, for about four hours after I finished the book. Then I thought about it, and decided that I liked him a lot less than I did previously. And now I've settled in somewhere between my old liking and the brief moment of loving. XD But Dumbledore+Grindelwald is definitely OTP, whether as friendship or as a ship ship ( ... )

Sorry about not replying, I was away for the month without much by way of internet access. It's perfectly okay! ^-^ RG Veda fans are always welcome on my f-list. It makes me almost believe we exist as a fandom.

Aww, I hope you don't mind if I add you too XD. It's wonderful to see there is a RG Veda fan that is actually still active! Me, I'm Italian and therefore write in my mothertongue... since I've started to write on RG Veda, lots of friends followed my example (the fandom is quite poor in Italy, too, being the manga pretty hard to find, as it was published in 1999 and never reprinted), which means we're now experiencing a sort of revival XD. Better small and good, than large and lousy like the Tsubasa fandom is
