New lj feature?

Sep 26, 2006 14:30

Is this random "friending" feature new? I've got two new journals as "friend of" just this morning, one of them is in Russian.

I feel kind of creeped out by this a little bit. It's irrational when you think about it because thousands of lurkers could be reading this daily (my what an ego!).

flailing about, lj

I've never heard of it.
But chances are people aren't even looking at your journal. Imean if you friend 700+ people in one day...

but if you want privacy you'll need to make all your entries friends only.

Just guessing, but I'd say it's a glitch on the LJ end of things. I remember a friend from CSI fandom complaining about that last month. I'm pretty sure they eventually disappeared from her list.

You could file a support request if you want a better answer.

I've had people "friend" me and I haven't "friended" them back, simply because they don't post to their LJ, and I'm not going to write private things that total strangers can read. At least I sort of know you guys! :)

You could always ban them completely. Then they cannot even comment to public posts and they do not show up on your flist at all. Check out how to do it on the bottom of this page.
