these are a few of my faaaavorite things
In case anyone was wondering, two of Cavil's favorite things are massive civilian death and plans with a capital "P." I'd say it's about that time, then, isn't it? Yeah.
Some time ago, Cavil was hired by Osborn to incapacitate and publicly humiliate Tony Stark in order to strengthen their villainous alliance and all that good stuff. Rather than attack him straight on and risk arrest (and awful death) all over again, Cavil's choosing to join forces with GLaDOS and stage a devastating traffic accident involving a liquid propylene tanker with results that would look something like this. For the link phobic, I'll just summarize and say that this involves destroying all the buildings, cars, and people within a 300 meter radius, give or take, as well as causing a crazy amount of fires. A lot of people will die instantly. More will die gradually. The highway overpass might very well collapse. All of this will be happening relatively close to Stark Tower.
And it will look like an accident.
Cavil (and possibly GLaDOS) will structurally weaken the truck beforehand, and GLaDOS will set up her neurotoxin "bomb" to go off by the driver's seat at just the right moment. This will cause the truck to swerve, crash, spring a leak, spread the gas, and ultimately explode once it reaches a source of ignition (idk, Cavil will make sure there's a bakery or a kiln in the area). The idea is that this will cause enough damage to attract some of the heroes. Once Iron Man shows up, Cavil will use the chaotic sounds in the area (screams, car alarms, fire alarms) to activate his powers, surreptitiously screw with Iron Man's neurons, and force him to violently crash. The whole thing, if it goes according to plan, will look like a series of very, very unfortunate accidents. Oh, look at that incompetent hero, crashing instead of saving someone! Aaah! Who can we trust anymore?!?
In any case, the tentative date for this to go down is this Saturday, October 24th. I will make a post in the main community, and then one in the logs community. If you'd like to be involved, please respond here. "Involved" could mean going to the scene to try to save the civilians, being at the scene and requiring saving, or... you know, pretty much anything. I know Cavil has a few enemies (see: Alastair and Kiryu and all the police), and if you want your character to be put in danger that way, I'm sure he would gladly find some way to sneakily manipulate them over to the area with hopes that they, too, would be set on fire.
Speaking of getting set on fire, Cavil won't be connected to this fire immediately, but something, at some point, is going to give him away. Right now, I'm thinking that he might burn the hell out of his arm and develop some scars, but there needs to be someone morally dubious enough to treat him so that he doesn't die from infection first. So, evil doctors, if you could post here as well and let me know if Cavil can actually get treatment, that would be super appreciated.
tl;dr: There will be a massive traffic "accident" that will lead to fires, death, and horrible destruction very close to Stark Tower this Saturday. Anyone game? 8D
