Roberto had already finished his classes and training for the day, and had actually been preparing to take off for the evening. After a long day of work a guy needed some R&R after all, but apparently the fun found him first. The silent alarm had been tipped, and he was all over finding an intruder like white on rice.

He powered up into his solar form, and approached the classroom door with fiery fists. "Knock, knock!"

Charlie was standing at the far side of the room flipping through a textbook, which was just as boring as she had expected, when the boy who...was on fire? Suddenly called into the room. She nearly dropped the book, snatching it out of the air a second after it fell from her fingers and then pressed it down onto the desk with a *thwump*.

"Uh," quick, something witty. "...Did you know you're on fire?"

Roberto actually stopped and gave her a weird look before glancing down at his hands. "Actually, it's more like solar radiation. It's still pretty hot though...!"

OH CHRIST. Don't get distracted!

"Don't you steal that book!"

She just sort of frowned at him, raising one eyebrow.

"Dude, it's a history textbook. What would I want with a history textbook?"

Even as she spoke she was edging along the wall towards the back of the classroom. She could've bounced away, but she still figured she could run out also. And edging along the wall towards the back door just seemed like the appropriate thing to do when facing down a boy who was on fire solar radiation.

Calvin wasn't supposed to be there that late either, but according to the teacher he wasn't supposed to do a lot of things, which was why he was now writing out 'the contents of the supply closet are not fortress construction materials' one hundred times on the blackboard. For the fourth time since apparently using stupendous speed to complete it in seconds was cheating or something. At this rate he was never going to get to go home and watch TV! It just wasn't fair.

He looked over his shoulder and saw someone he didn't recognize. At least she wasn't a teacher, whoever she was. "Hey, are you in detention too?"

Oh man, how had she missed the short kid? She just sort of blinked at him a couple of times, and then ran with it. "Yes?" Okay, so that probably wasn't going to hold water. "I mean, no, I just am..." Okay, what was a good reason to be here. "Exploring?"

Wait, crap, that totally wasn't a valid reason for an actual student to be walking around. "Or, no, I'm just...taking a walk. Right." Yeah, that would totally work better.

Calvin just stared at her. "I don't know who you are, lady, but boy have you got a lot to learn about lying." At least she was giving him something to do that didn't involve a chalkboard. "What are you doing here? Are you a bad guy? Is the school being attacked again?" Probably not. Emplate had been way noisier. And scarier.

Is his hero identity Spaceman Spiff?

"Huh? I'm not lying..." She paused, okay, so that wasn't gonna work. "Well, I'm not a bad guy, at least?" That was true!

She grinned her winningest grin at him. "I'm just, you know, lookin' around. At your...school."

Kurt appeared very near the girl, expression bemused. He doubted that her appearance meant a lot of trouble, but it was intruding, nonetheless. "Can I help you, young lady?"

Charlie's eyes went wide and she immediately disappeared in a flash of pink, reappearing at the far end of the room, staring at him. "Woah! Don't sneak up on people like that!"

Megan heard familiar bamfing noises coming from downstairs, and upon investigation, also saw bright pink lights coming from one room. Damn it, she said before, that was her thing!

"Sneak up on people like what?" she asked, teleporting herself into the room right next to Charlie and watching her curiously. "Oh hey, it's you! That girl who does that thing."

"You are one to accuse so!" He exclaimed, joviality still somewhere in his voice, and teleported again so that he was crouched and balanced on one of the small desks. "Ah! Miss Gwynn!"

"That girl who does that thing?" He gestured to their intruder with a look of question. "We've nothing to fear, I trust?"

Scott crouched down low behind the crumbled wall, scanning the area for signs of the Purifiers. He had run one of the most advanced training sessions that he could handle in the Danger Room and turned the safety protocols to their lowest setting. It required nothing less than perfect concentration, which is what he needed right now to take his mind off of things.

Spotting two of the Purifiers across the ruins of the warehouse they were in, Scott fired off a tricky bank shot that took out both men before he sprinted to a new location.

Charlie appeared with a flash of pink light and smoke in the middle of the simulation, wiping at some leftover flashy burn stuff from her encounter with some of the other residents of the mansion. And then she paused, frowning. She'd decided to see if the basement was less full of people who were grumpy at her, just to catch her breath...and come up with an excuse to give Oracle for why she'd broken in. But this...

"...This is not a basement..." She commented, her eyes wide as she turned a circle in time to watch a guy zap two men from across the ruins and then go sprinting off. "This is so not a basement. What the...?"

Scott got behind new cover and glanced around to see if there were any other Purifiers in the area. There had been 32 to start and he had taken out 25, so he had a few more left.

It was looking around that he noticed a young girl with red hair standing around in the scenario. Definitely not a Purifier. Either a civilian or something else entirely. He was so focused on her that he almost didn't see the two Purifiers approaching behind her. When they leveled their weapons at her Scott realized she was definitely not part of their team.

"Get down!" he shouted before firing off a blast.

"What?" Charlie managed to turn towards the suddenly approaching enemies just as one of them opened fire, and she got hit in the shoulder, the blast spinning her around...though she disappeared before she would've hit the ground.

A moment later she reappeared across the room, scrambling to get behind a piece of rubble.

"Why is there a WAR going on in your basement?" This was shouted at Scott, presumably.

Hearing the warning system go off, Dani made her way to the main offices of the school to get a look at the intruder. The warning system hadn't alerted most of the staff to a major break-in so Dani wondered if a few of the students had decided to sneak out for the night. Looking over the cameras, she noticed a teleporter weaving in and out through the hallways and classrooms. She wasn't a current student...

Dani paused thoughtfully before going over to a desk and pulling out a student file folder. It was new and barely had much in it but it was a start. She went out to see if she'd run into the girl.

*BOUNCE* How lucky, Charlie totally appeared standing in the middle of the hallway Dani was walking through, her back to the other girl, reaching up to scratch at the top of her head. "Okay, boys who shoot lasers out of their hands suck..." She said with a sigh, brushing off her costume and then frowning when she found a hole in her cape. "Oh crap."

So far, this particular snooping mission could've been going better.

Dani's eyebrows went up as the girl in question appeared before her. And she bit down on a laugh as she guessed who Charlie had just run into. Lasers. She shook her head. She hoped that she wouldn't drive her away with a greeting.

"Hello Charlotte."

"It's Charlie," this was said automatically, before Charlie even apparently realized somebody was talking to her. "Nobody calls me-" She stopped, frowned, and whirled around.

"Hey! How do you know my name? Are you psychic?" She started mentally humming Mary Had a Little Lamb, just to be safe!
