Getting jurisdiction over the Shego case in DC was an absolute nightmare, and Elisa wasn't in the best of moods. The hesitant knock on her door didn't really improve her disposition, either, because it meant someone new. The officers already working in the precinct tended to just barge in. If she was lucky, they knocked once before barging in.

"Come in," she called.

Jim opened the door with a quiet click, slipping inside through as narrow a gap as he could as if trying to keep the noise at is back out as much as possible. Closing the door in his wake he immediately took his hat off and worried it's rim in his hands, trying not to stare too much at the dark haired woman behind the desk.

Damn his sense of tradition, he'd been expecting a man in that chair. Seeing the woman behind the desk in her jeans and casual shirt threw him off for a second, gumming up his carefully planned introduction as he mentally made sure to switch his 'sir's for 'ma'am's.

"Officer Maza? I'm Jim Hammond, ma'am." He put out a hand to her to shake. "Comissioner Prime said you were the woman to talk to if I was interested in joining the force."

A new recruit? Elisa perked up. They needed new hands since Jono had been ported out. "Nice to meet you, Mr. Hammond. Come on in, sit down." She looked him over. Well, nothing that immediately pinged her "cop radar".

Jim settled awkwardly into a chair across the desk, laying his hat in his lap.

"I hope I'm not interrupting anything. I'm sure you're a very busy woman."
