It's incredibly difficult to imagine the sudden wide-spread panic that's caused by something like a massive electromagnetic pulse until it actually happens. It affects everything, everyone, all at once and without warning. Circuit breakers in building fry and explode, setting entire buildings on fire, massive car pile-ups in the streets, and that's nothing to speak of the looting and crime from opportunistic thugs as all lights and security systems go out in the city. When it happened, Peter was home just trying to enjoy some late night TV when it happened. When it happened, Peter sighed and slapped on his costume and took to the streets.

It was gonna be a long night.

He's been out on the street for only a few minutes now with the intention of stopping crime, helping who he could, doing what he could, when he stops to take a look out around the city from the edge of a rooftop when out of the corner of his peripheral he sees... something. Was it a bird? Or... a plane? He squints his eyes and covers his brow with a guarded hand to ( ... )

It was amazing how much one EMP blast of sufficient size and positioning could accomplish. Bruce was no stranger to the technology or the destruction it could cause, but it wasn't something he'd anticipated. The City had more than its fair share of emergencies and disasters, but only very rarely could these be attributed to a large scale villainous plans. His lab had above average backups and safeguards against this kind of thing happening and he'd still lost power ( ... )

The shock was almost enough to send him into spasms, he was trapped in his mind, like he was crawling with mud. He could barely move, but he managed a twitch of his fingers, breathing slightly ragged once his savior manged to land them on a rooftop.

Who was it? His eyes were wide open and they moved, but only slowly, and he saw flashes of white...stuff.

White stuff, red and blue. He felt like he was struggling to come up with what it was before he finally came to the conclusion that it had to be Peter.

He was feeling quite happy that he'd managed to figure that out when something big and green shook the rooftop, but he couldn't turn his head enough to see who it was.

He just kept struggling to breathe.

Peter is... confused, at first. He wonders if maybe one of Tony's lungs collapsed in the fall, but remembers real quick that this Tony still has Extremis.

"Oh crap."

Peter hovers his hands frantically over Tony, really rather unsure of what to do. WHAT DOES HE DO?!

"Oh crapcrapcrapcrapcrap."

He looks over to THE HULK for support and is about to say something when he realizes... HE'S LOOKING TO THE HULK FOR HELP.

...

Wait.

Peter starts gesturing wordlessly as he thinks frantically about what he's going to do, lightbulbs going off in his head, as Tony gasps up at him like a floundering fish. He rips off his gloves and tears off a web-shooter and begins to pull it apart-- dismantle it as quickly as possible. The web-shooters could release liquid at the press of the plunger on the palm of his hand when he needed so... why did it have to be webbing fluid? Why couldn't it be...

Tony needed adrenaline. He wasn't going to be able to get it at this rate, and... god, Tony was dying and... he looked to the Hulk again, and then.... THE ( ... )
