Mark was still finishing up an essay when his pager (that's what he called it, anyway) buzzed with a message from the Avengers. He was greeted with the name and coordinates of the location, situation at hand and a request for confirmation - as usual. He pressed «Y». A hand went up to scratch his temple with a defeated frown and an exhale. He was still very conflicted about his place in Osborn's team, but he couldn't ignore that there were people still needing his help. For now, the Avengers' communication system was the quickest means to get to them.

Of course, the imposed news broadcast would've also worked in this instance, but we're talking in general terms ( ... )

Mary had been in the middle of making herself a snack before she tackled the massive pile of homework that was waiting for her when she heard the news of the mudslides on t.v. Well... gosh, that seemed like it'd be a fairly quick problem to take care of; rescuing the workers and saving the town from disaster really shouldn't take up too much time. Besides, saving people was far more important than homework any day of the week and if her teachers didn't understand... well... she'd let them know otherwise!

And with any luck, she'd be back by suppertime. So she left a note for Kitty, said the magic word and leapt into the air. Upon her arrival, she was surprised to see she was not the only hero with the same idea. She smiled and called out to them. "Blue Beetle! Invincible!"

Wow.

It was like a Teen Titans thing. Jaime blinked, getting two fast-moving signals pinging off his Scarab sensors, and tilted his head down to look past his feet, which...

...Only made him look like a retard when the pair of them matched pace, one on each side. He swivelled his head, one to the other to get a look and see just who--oh!

"Hey, guys!" he waved. "You heading where I'm heading?"

Mark offered both superheroes a genuine smile as soon as they assembled, flying pretty much at the same pace. There was a nagging feeling in the back of his head, though--he was used to traveling at a faster speed (that seemed to become even more so as time went by), and didn't want to risk arriving to a scene and getting a 'too late' for an answer.

He nodded at Jaime. "Mudslides, right?"
