Spark Roast Coffee Shop:: Early Wednesday Morning (Juston + Agatha) seyfertsalvage March 18 2010, 02:31:37 UTC
Eating while stressed was a habit Juston had picked during his stay in the city. Even if strange disease hadn’t fallen over the city he had plenty of his own problems… he was still a bit shell-shocked over the fact that the first friend he had made here was ported away last week. He was still feeling somewhat shaken over the fact his friend Rikki had been murdered last week.

For now it didn’t bother him that it he was the only person in the place. After all it was the wee hours of the morning and nothing was going to stop him from eating a plate full of waffles like it was his last day in the city. He was going to enjoy himself/ Then he turned his head looking outside of the window… his jaw agape, his brown hair drooping down over his face as he gasped.

“Oh-my-god…” he said in one breath.

Agatha looked up from pouring coffee for a customer, and just stared. The cup filled and overflowed, but she didn't even notice the hot coffee running over her hand until it splashed on the floor.

Dropping it (she could clean up later), she put both hands on her hips and uttered a very loud sound that was somewhere between a whistle and a yell. Immediately, the door-bot that normally just watched people come in and out all day unfolded down to barricade the doors to keep any of the things from getting in.

"Stay calm, everyone. We'll be safe in here," she said evenly, wishing yet again that the Spark charisma had come through the 'Porter with her. It would make things so much easier.

Juston wasn't exactly staying calm but, he wasn't exactly panicking either. He could feel his pulse racing as he locked somewhat duly impressed as the door came slamming down. He tensed up a bit as he backed away from the windows towards Agatha shivering a bit.

"I can see that but..." he paused a frog in his throat. "For how long?" The boy meekly said inspecting the sturdiness of the door.

"As long as we have to. We'll keep an eye on the network. Can you take care of that for me? I'll need to keep everyone else calm."

Fortunately there weren't too many customers in the store, but they all looked terrified. Sure could use some calming pie now. Note to self: invent a tranquilizer gun, possibly sonic? Yes, do that later.

"If anyone needs to leave, there's a way out the back if we need it. Should have enough food supplies for a few days at the very least."

After the past few months, a zombie attack was sorely needed. And this time, Cable was not going to get bitten. He had two guns and more artillery strapped to his person. He had been taking out NPCs poor, hapless citizens on the way to the MAC where some of the zombies were concentrated. He never liked that place.

"Hey! I've got some nice juicy flesh right here," Cable growled, pointing his gun at what he didn't know was Tully.

Cable wasn't hesitating. He had been bitten once--not again. Cable cocked his gun, pointed it at Tully, and fired a round of shots at the running madman.

Theoretically, Ryan knew that being out in the City while there were brain-eating (or whatever) zombies was a stupid idea. However, Ryan didn't always do what was a good idea. In fact, he hardly ever did what was a good idea so it really should have been of very little surprise that Ryan was leaning against the wall of a building with a shotgun in his hand and a faintly visible purple energy shield around him. For there being a zombie invasion, Ryan seemed remarkably unconcerned with being hurt.

It probably had something to do with the fact that all the zombies around him were dancing. And singing.

"In hell we dance our own special a way,
let's show them how we dance while our bodies decay!"
"Do we bounce like Backstreet?"
"Not without a heartbeat!"

Maggie had slept most of the day, or otherwise consuming enough broth to rehydrate a mountain of flesh (or a 6 foot tall bodyguard type gal), and much recovered and refreshed, was determined to help. She had been spared this curse; she had to do what she could to protect the City from it.

She and a 10 foot tall paper golem roamed the streets, the golem smashing zombie bodies into the pavement or grabbing and crushing them, while Maggie raised shields to separate the zombies from passers by and direct them toward her and her golem.

She stopped short when she reached the next block. Had she ever seen the "Thriller" video she might have been familiar with the sight, but as it was, she was utterly perplexed by dancing zombies, and wasn't quite sure whether to destroy them, or let the architect of this strange event complete whatever this strange ritual was. She looked around, looking for the source.

Of course! yayashton March 18 2010, 20:57:02 UTC
Normally, Ryan was all for letting dance numbers continue but at the moment he knew that killing the zombies was probably the priority. So, with a sigh, he lifted the shotgun at his side and shot a couple of zombies in the head. Err . . . Nothing substantial happened. Oh well, he could do this all day.

"Do we grind like Michale Bivens?"
"Bel Biv Devoe before the living."
"Do we whoop like Tag Team?"
"Not without a bloodstream."

And, for once, he was totally glad his father had insisted he learn how to shoot a gun and he was reasonably good at it.

Maggie certainly heard the shotgun fire. That meant the zombies were indeed still threatening someone, so she plowed forward, golem in front of her so it would catch any stray shot. The golem, starting to move unconsciously (that is, at Maggie's unconscious will), a bit, with the rhythm of the song, thrust its cylindrical "hands" at the creatures, bashing them into quivering, crushed corpses. It was quite large, so it would probably come into Ryan's view soon enough.

Wednesday Night (~10pm to start) | Near the MAC | For Rue and Possibly Sanji insourarmor March 18 2010, 04:28:01 UTC
Fakir hadn't expected to be taking on the role of a knight again so soon after his encounter with Maleficent. The sudden appearance of these shambling, rotted monsters, however, dictated that he take up his sword again, putting his despair and the interpersonal quagmire that was his day to day life behind him in favor of defending the defenseless people caught in this fracas.

His friends, Mytho, hundreds of thousands of innocent people were in danger. With that in mind, he had pulled on his boots and mended clothing he had first arrived wearing, and taken up the sword Ben had given him. And tucked a small, crumpled piece of paper bearing his new laws into the folded collar of his shirt. Yes, he assured himself, this was the only real way that he could afford to help. God knows what happened the last time he had tried to take the easy path to knighthood.

This was far from easy. Even if the monsters' decayed flesh gave easily under his blade, they made up for that in sheer tenacity. He learned fairly quickly that they needed to be ( ... )

It wasn't as if she wanted to be out here in this. Indeed, when she first heard of the zombie attacks on the network, Rue had done what she thought any sensible person would do: she locked her door and windows, and decided to hide in her room until it was all over. It was a cowardly course of action for sure, but much wiser in the end, she thought ( ... )

Upon hearing a familiar voice, Fakir stilled for a second, glancing up to the balcony. A princess in a tower, surrounded by monsters. And a knight on a quest. How perfect. Only not.

"What does it look like I'm doing?" he shot back, turning his attention back to the streets. Maybe it was the high concentration of weirdos and lower concentrations of normal people around the MAC, but the shambling hoards seemed thin there.

"Do you want to get killed?" she asked. A few of her ravens, perhaps sensing that their favorite prey was nearby, began working towards killing the zombies near Fakir. Perhaps unconsciously, Kraehe began sending even more over to help him.

With a groaning scream, what was once Suzi tore through the streets, in pursuit of delicious brain matter.

Brain. Brains.

Suzi let out a roar.
