WAKING UP SLEEPING BEAUTY; open to Cuckoos, Jamie, Dr. Mid-Nite superxgrlfriend February 19 2010, 19:52:28 UTC

[Dr. Mid-Nite, after being briefed on Monet's talents and surveying her status, surmised that traumatic telepathic backlash was likely at play in her continuing lack of consciousness. Subsequent inquiries as to who among the Institute's denizens might be able to assist her - as such telepathic connections always work better with friends than with strangers, he's found - revealed the triplets, by whom even the normally unflappable doctor finds himself a bit... off-put. Not that he'll let it show.]

Whenever you're ready, ladies. Let's hope there is no toil or trouble.

[The Cuckoos keep tabs on certain people in the City, and since the arrival of Emplate his sister Monet has been the logical person to watch out for: cool and calm but a massive maelstrom inside. And because telepaths go far beyond what the eye can see, they know that something is wrong, and the good doctor's call comes as no surprise.

Drifting towards her bedside, they look up and smile briefly at him. Reassurances are always necessary.]

This might all appear rather strange to you, since it's beyond the realm of science. But it's alright, we know what we're doing.
[They take a collective deep breath, and slip through the doors of Monet's mind.]

[ Jamie stood quietly to the side now and watched with his arms crossed. He didn't want to say or do anything to disturb any of them, but he didn't want to leave either. In her position, he imagined, when waking up, he wouldn't have liked to find himself alone either, so he stayed. Interestingly enough, he wasn't weirded out at a by the three twins doing their thing, because, really, if anybody were to understand exact duplicates linked intricately down to their thoughts, hey, it would be him, right? ]

Welcome back to the waking world, Miss St. Croix. How are you feeling?

[ To be honest, not spectacular. Waking meant facing what had happened, and she isn't sure she's ready to do that quite yet. Worse, her whole body aches, and there's a sharp, searing pain between her temples. She manages a grin despite her discomfort. ]

I'll be fine now that you're here, Doctor.

[ She could probably use a few painkillers, but she'd never admit it. ]

[He's not entirely sure if that's sarcasm or not at this point, but if so, he'll let it slide. Fortunately for her, he's good at anticipating the needs of his patients.]

I should hope so. I imagine you're in a great deal of pain right now, so I can up the dosage on your morphine drip here a bit to help you get comfortable.
