Tank arrives - as she agreed - wearing the black dress (and heels even) that Lucifer had made for her.

For everybody but maybe Booga and Barney, this was a rare sight indeed.

Nevertheless, she smiles cordially, her ever changing hair now back to a pixie-cut blonde.

She sits at the bar, leaning over her elbows, happy as can be. She's got a good project, she's got her husband, got good friends, and Lucifer is back.

What's not to like?

He comes to her wearing all white -- a rather stark contrast to her black leather -- as well as a rather wolfish smile, silently rather pleased with himself for pushing his luck. It wasn't every day that Tank, the one woman in the city so unique as to be beautiful for it, could be coerced into dressing up like a woman, let alone one with sensual written across her frame.

Her smile -- another rare sight -- did nothing to ruin the image. He offers her his hand once he's next to her, intent on kissing the back of it if she would let him, the action as gentlemanly as could be.

"I half thought you wouldn't do it once the idea came to mind."

She lets him, but mostly only because he's back and he gets a grace period of about a week max, where she treats him extra nice.

Then, it's back to treating Lucifer like any of Tank's friends.

She suspected that was what Lucifer liked about her. No fear, but no worship, either.

"Half thought I wouldn't either. Which is why I let The Price Is Right decide. Only fair way."

"So, looks like you're getting into the groove of things quickly. Talked to Del and Death already?"

"You could have said no. I wouldn't have held it against you."

He laughs. That was Tank, always the one to take the scenic route just to get where she was going. His smile almost matches hers in honesty; though the mention of both of the Endless -- especially Delirium -- make him frown minutely.

"I've talked to the both of them, yes. Delirium is currently staying with me for the time being."

And along comes Booga boogaroos February 17 2010, 00:55:02 UTC
Booga came a bit later, still healing from a couple bruises of his boarding run the day before. Considering a night out with Lucifer, one of the told good buddies of Tank, he decided to at least try with dressing nice. When he came in, immediately he saw his wife at the bar wearing a dress and looking hot as hell. Well, even more so than usual.

"Whoa baby." Booga grinned, walking to the bar- failed attempts not to drool a little. Not that he hasn't seen it, but it was still rather nice. Looking up he saw Lucifer, and extended his hand out. "Lucifer, yeh? Nice t' finally meet'cha, mate."

Immediately, he's reminded of an old man telling him that he knew a good pom once, and that that pom was one of the most genuine people he had ever met. Lucifer smiles -- honest, but still restrained -- and gives Booga his hand, squeezing it in greeting. He's not surprised at all that Tank's husband is a kangaroo, even if it is the first time he's met the man outside of a picture.

"Likewise," he answers. "I'd almost grown impatient waiting for the Dues Ex Machina to spit you out."

Booga took his hand firmly, with a nod before letting it go. "Hear that a lot these days. No fault of mine- promise." The Kangaroo sat himself down. "Heard you left. Guess the Machine's not only slow but its got hiccups too."

"Of a kind, I suppose." he replies, still standing. "I could not leave or return of my own accord."

Barney is fashionably late, as always. She is wearing this with sparkling red stilettos. Immediately, she flops onto one of the bar stools and signals for a Zombie.

"Hulllooooo," she abruptly blurts, queerly ogling at Lucifer.

Yeah, that's not going to make him want to talk to her very much. He lets the bar tender handle her drink, soundly ignoring the woman.

"Barney - where the shit did you even get that. Did you make that?"

She gives Lucifer a lazy wink and licks her lips before switching her attention to Tank. "I ordered it from one of those infomercials on the telly! The guy was a real sultry bloke and I thought I'd donate some change for a good cause, ya know!"

1 of 2. ...oops. anyway, here's entertainment for the evening, such as it is unnamed_nothing February 17 2010, 02:55:55 UTC
Trowa suppressed the oomf of being unexpectedly headbutted by the bigger female as he stood waiting, something approaching a smile creeping into the corners of his mouth while he knelt down and returned the gesture by roughly rolling his shoulder into her side, pushing her head away with a hand; one of the two males on the other side stood sniffing the air, pacing a little ( ... )

It was, of course, mostly thanks to one of them having the part of simply roaring now and then while the others rolled and flipped and scrambled about, blocking him from view. It was difficult not to let himself laugh as one of them started to lose focus and mess about a little too blatantly instead of keeping with the act of supposedly tearing apart the hapless trainer, and he gently pushed the big muzzle away from him so he could reach over and snag hold of the string on his mask with his fingertips ( ... )

As the crowd began to thin out, Lucifer approached Trowa, two glasses of wine in one hand and a bottle in the other. He looked rather -- well, pleased. And the smile he wore was honest.

"You gave quite the show tonight, Trowa."

Haha, it's all right. I was at work from like 2p yesterday til... well, just now unnamed_nothing February 19 2010, 02:25:54 UTC
Trowa glanced up at his employer from the corners of his eyes and then returned his attention to his work, helping rearrange some of the chairs that had been moved about and left out of place. The usual solemn expression had dialed itself down a bit, approaching something that some people would call 'pleased' if they'd run out of actual smiles an hour ago. Still, for him, it was good.

"...Mm. Thanks."

It was not his place to assume anything about the glasses, well aware that Lucifer ran things at the bar now and then.

The young man gave a soft, faintly amused chuckle before he spoke again.

"I got some rest."

He noted the expression -- that softening of his guard, of his perpetual wall between the real world and whatever world was real to himself -- without so much as a flinch. Trowa was, and would possibly always be, the only one of employees that Lucifer would never try to actively guess at, to read into.

"I fully expected you to."

He placed both glasses down on one of the tables out of Trowa's way, then began to help the young man sort and push, make right and orderly. The silence was rather nice.
