WHERE: The streets of Gotham the City
WHEN: ....some time earlier this week, probably. First time they patrol together, anyway. Which is probably like a week ago, idk.
WARNINGS: None
SUMMARY: Police have to patrol in pairs now! Jono's never really talked to Slinger outside of communal beer-times when he was last here, so... time

Robyn was accustomed to cruising her beat by car. She set a lot of stock in the theory that a visible, approachable police force was an effective one. Given that she was one of the less intimidating-looking officers, and the citizens had had time to get used to her, the routine had brought her good results in her old patrol area.

This was her new area, though, and the unfamiliarity was making her tense. Seeing Jono out of the corner of her eye all the time instead of the familiar toybox wasn't helping. He was a good guy, by all accounts, but they still weren't used to one another.

"Got it. We looking for anything specific here, or is it just a local hot spot?"

"I think there was a tip-off a while back about one of the apartments being a grow-op, or something like," Jono looked up from the map again to peer out the window - they were still cruising by stores and office buildings.

"I don't know if we can do much without knowing which it is, but there could be criminal types about, if that's the case."

They wouldn't be in that neighbourhood for another ten or so minutes; Jono turned back to the map, just to check, then looked out the front dash again.

"So how long have you been in the City?" He asked, making small talk. Jono remembered her from his time before, but couldn't recall when she'd joined the force. Maybe it had been before he'd done.

"Okay, holler if you see anything likely on that side," Robyn said, scanning the buildings to the left.

"I've been here since..." she pauses to think, "wow, since June I guess. Been a hell of a seven months."

"And you, you've been popped in and out, right? What's that like?"

[jonocalypse]

"Right," Jono kept an eye on the sidewalk and storefronts as they went past; this was a lot less in-depth than going on foot.

"Ah, I came in about the end of July, I think it was," Jono frowned to himself for a moment; it was hard keeping track of months and days on two separate planes of reality.

"Yeah, I did. I was only three days back - well, out of here, at any rate, but it was three months here." He paused a moment, but the flurry of movement in front of the convenience store was two people hugging, not killing each other. "I didn't remember a thing."
