Roy was up for a midnight snack when he heard noises coming from the living room. His eyes widened when he recognized the voice and he dashed in.

"Donna! Are you okay?"

He froze in the doorway when he saw the screen. He'd never seen Silence of the Lambs before.

"OH MY GOD EW"

Donna screamed and fell off the couch, still hugging on to the pillow. She quickly wiped at her cheek as if something had just been thrown at it, before glancing around and registering Roy's voice.

She grabbed on to the cushion of the couch and peeked over at Roy.

"Roy?" She then glanced back at the movie. "I --I promise this isn't a dirty movie. I mean, I wouldn't be watching one! It's a horror film. I didn't know that was in it."

Roy winced and tore his eyes away from the screen to look at Donna.

"Yeah, uh, I sort of. Got that."

He wrinkled his nose in disgust, then suddenly it hit him that this was Donna. Donna, who used to be Wonder Girl. Donna, who used to be his girlfriend. Donna who was now a lot older than him, who was married to someone else and who he'd greeted by saying "oh my god, you got boobs".

Roy fidgetted uncomfortably, hoping that the dim light hid his blush.

"So, uh, you're not getting attacked or anything, right?"

Her sidepart swept messily in her face, and she tucked it back in a fidgety way, tunneling both of her hands over the ends of her hair as she pulled it back over her shoulder.

Her gaze studied Roy for a second -- it was strange to see him captured in his youth, and at such a troubled time for him. Even if he was now only a couple of years younger than her, it drove home just how quickly they'd all grown up.

And, in the case of she and Roy, grown apart in some ways.

"No, no. Not getting attacked." Her smile curled with a hint of shyness, the kind that came along with remembering their very awkward greeting beforehand.

"Though, I guess we could just say you saved me from Anthony Hopkins ... if it'll make you feel like a man."
