[It's not some insane hour in the morning at all. It's actually really early, from Dick's point of view. He would normally have patrolled at least two more hours but he wasn't doing a good job and couldn't concentrate well. It happens, it's not the end of the world, it means he's back early.

Just in time to get to the Tower's first floor to see Wally in the kitchen fumbling for something to eat. 'Something to eat' apparently being snacks.

He walks in the room, smiling at Wally.] Got woken up because you were hungry again?

[It is insane for Wally, him being a day-time sort of superhero rather than the kind that goes out at night to patrol and all that. These are the kind of hours you're supposed to spend sleeping in bed to him. Unless you get hungry.

So far he's managed to gather cookies and some chips - neither of which are going to be enough - when Dick walks in and startles Wally. That's what he gets for being so focused on the contents of the cupboards.]

Yeah. [He replies as he glances over with a sheepish smile.] You're back early.

[Dick stares at the content of Wally's hands, and raises an eyebrow. Wally is the sort of guy who lives on take out, cookies and snacks but considering his metabolism, he's still going to be hungry within an hour if he only feeds on chips.

He nods once, ignoring the fact he can hear his heart beating in his temples. He knows he has to go to sleep but he is in early -- he can stay here for a little while before crawling to his room.]

It wasn't a good night for me. [That's all he's going to offer on the subject. He shoots another look at Wally's arms and sighs.] If you're not starving too much, I can make you something. [Soup sounds like a good idea for Dick too, but he's not going to share that.]

[Wally is used to getting weirder looks about his eating habits (his mother's face of disapproval for one) so he ignores Dick's raised eyebrow, merely taking his found snacks and moving to stand closer to Dick.]

Oh man, if you could do that I would love you forever. [He grins. Obviously he's not easily won over by promises of food or anything. He hasn't forgotten what was said before though.]

So, what happened? Crime not playing nice tonight?
