Even after countless books and discussions with friends, Jenny still didn't really understand Christmas. The concept of gift giving to celebrate someone else's birthday just seemed strange. Furthermore, what sort of gifts were you supposed to give someone?

In the end, Jenny had gotten packs of plain white socks for all her friends. They were useful, necessary, and rather easy to pick out. She only hoped that Galen would like his pack as she picked it up from the table.

Within seconds, she was standing at his door and waiting for him to answer her knock.

Galen opened the door and couldn't help but smile when he saw Jenny there. He wasn't really expecting anyone else, but he couldn't help but smile a little bit when he saw her. He noticed that she had that effect on just about everyone.

Behind him, through the door, Galen's apartment was decked out in full Christmas spirit. A tree in the corner with stockings over the heating register and garland and lights were all over. There was even a bit of mistletoe just inside the door. He'd seen it in every shop and figured it must be just as important as the tree.

"Merry Christmas, Jenny," he said, motioning for her to come in.

Jenny's eyes went wide as she looked inside of his flat. While she had been there before, it seemed like something else entirely given the decorations. She was quite thankful that she had done more research into the holiday. She knew about the tree and the stockings and even the mistletoe above the door entrance.

Her cheeks reddened slightly as she giggled and stood on her toes to kiss him quickly but deeply. "Merry Christmas, Galen."

Galen's eyes went wide at the kiss but he eagerly kissed her back. It wasn't expected at all but he was but he had definitely enjoyed it.

"That was... a very nice Christmas gift," he said a moment later, somewhat breathless.
