WHO: Tank Girl, Bruce Banner WHERE: All over town. WHEN: Day or so after the concert. WARNINGS: ehhhhhhh SUMMARY: Tank and Bruce hang out, as they are so wont to do. FORMAT: Wooop woop woop
It shouldn't have even been a question as to whether or not he was in his lab; he didn't actually have a proper apartment or home outside of his broken-down cot and self-imposed work load. Tank Girl was one of the few that he'd programmed the security systems to let in, no questions asked, so he jumped a little when her loud, rough voice bounced off all the glass vials on the walls and the clutter of thoughts he had rolling around in his skull.
Bruce pushed his glasses up his nose, then glanced down at his watch.
"It is indeed." She said, coming in and up close. "Time for you to get away from the science for a couple of hours. Well, the science you're working on, anyway."
"Figured we might head out for a walk, hit up the astronomy center, then come back here later for movies. Whatcha think?" She said, leaning over him in his chair, glancing at the massive array of diagrams and equations and research notes.
She wouldn't say it, but she was kind of jealous of Bruce's ability to make sense of all of it.
"Or we can just head to the movie theater itself, but I dunno if they're playing anything you like."
The thought of going on a "date" with a girl like Tank would have literally terrified him not even six months ago. In fact, he wouldn't have given her a second thought had she seen him on the subway before coming to the City. She was the type of girl who used a chainsaw to do her hair, pierced herself, and mugged men like him on the street because his testicles were more of a suggestion than a mark of his manhood.
But, Tank was a classic case of never judging a book by its cover, no matter how exotic or worn the cover. It was a trite comparison, but it held. Bruce smiled, rubbing the back of his neck.
"I think that sounds like a good idea. I'm set with enough stimulants to keep me for the next three days, much less one evening. We can stretch it out for as long as we please. It isn't often that I get to take someone out."
"Well, let's not waste any time, then." She said, lunging a finger forward and hitting the power button - for the monitor, and the monitor alone. Couldn't let Bruce get distracted.
Wrapped an arm around his, gently pulled him from the chair, and started walking back out.
"So, my good doctor," Tank started as she stepped out the doors. "Now that we're away from your work, I can safely ask what you've had your eyes pressed up against for science for the last few days."
