[Tom is just about ready to leave the cafe when he notices Andrew. He certainly hasn't had a good conversation with a respectable young man lately, now has he? Something about the City leads to a sharp decrease in the presence of anything respectable at all.

He orders another cup of coffee and makes his way over to Andrew, casually.]

Hello.

[Andrew isn't really paying attention until the man is actually speaking to him, and then he is half afraid that he has missed a grand introduction. He looks comfortably European in the way that some of the people who live in the City tend to look, and it makes Andrew smile despite himself, despite being approached by someone who is only one suit of (admittedly very nice) clothes away from being another panhandler, despite the otherwise dismal events of the day.]

Hallo.

[He smiles a little more eagerly, hoping not to appear rude.]

Have we met? I- If it was at the clinic, I might not remember you. I see a lot of faces.

[The boy is overly polite. Normally that sours Tom's opinion of a person, but he's decided to have a more open mind, now that he's in an even more unpleasant version of a city he's always detested. He returns the smile easily, shaking his head just a bit.]

No, no, don't worry. Nothing more than a polite hello.

[He pauses, because calculated hesitation has made some of his more awkward encounters notably less so.]

If you're busy, I could go. You merely struck me as the type to enjoy a conversation.

[Andrew is, to say the least, surprised.]

Oh. Hallo, then.

[He sits in silence for a moment. He isn't the sort of person who normally attracts any sort of attention -at least until his religious beliefs come up-, and even in the City, he is used to a good deal of anonymity.]

Yes, yes, do sit down.

[He gestures at the empty chair across from him.]
