[Kitty is doing what she does best when she's anxious or upset-- stress eating. She figures no one would mind if she dug into the leftovers and dig she did. Right now she was making her way through cold stuffing (and wow, it was still cool this time around) but had bread, mashed potatoes and a ton of other food around. For a slim girl, she could eat.

This gave her time to contemplate what had gone on and try to make sense of it. And it was better than punching a hole into the wall, right?

Butter. She definitely needed more butter.]

[ Raven had tried to sleep, really, was even curled up comfortably against Arnold the entire time, but her mind wouldn't let her ease - not after dinner, and everything else that had gone on. The terrible feelings were still in the air, and there was no way an empath would be able to get any sleep like this.

Slipping out of bed, she pulled on her white silk robe, tieing it around her waist before going downstairs. She more than expected everyone to be fast asleep in the bedrooms, but was surprised when she turned the corner into the kitchen to find Kitty there. ... well. ]

Good morning.

Hi.

[Kitty is trying to look very involved in her food adventures. She didn't want to talk to anyone, especially Raven. She had sort of had an emotional overload on what was supposed to be a vacation and clearly wasn't happy about it.]

[ Yeah, she was getting a head full of that very emotion, and it almost makes her turn around and walk out of the room. She could've just gone back upstairs to the security of her bedroom and been done with it. ... but no, Raven was never that good with knowing when to back off. Slipping further into the kitchen, she opens the refrigerator to get a bottle of water. ]

... I'm sorry, for all that happened today.

[ She keeps her back to Kitty for every word. ]

She wasn't sure what to think or feel. Well, other than horror and despair. After everything the two of them had gone through together... It wasn't going to make a difference in the end? And even everything they tried to do for Raven... Had it helped at all?

She was trying to find the positive in all this, but at the moment, in such a cold place, it was a little hard.

After dinner, before the 3:00 AM thread with Kitty. ajrimmer_ssc November 28 2009, 00:08:39 UTC
Knowing that there was a house full of guests downstairs made this about a thousand times more difficult than usual. Especially knowing that one of them was a mind-reader, and had no compunctions about blabbing all sorts of nasty smeg.

But he and Raven did need to talk. And badly, at that.

"Well. That was...interesting."

Awkward was a better word for it, very awkward, and she was hiding herself away up here until she gained enough composure to go downstairs and start cleaning. Perched in a chair, staring out the windows of the balcony door, with the youngest cat in her arms... she lets out a sigh at hearing his voice.

"To say the least."

"What on Io did that little brat think she was doing? She deliberately and maliciously tried to ruin your dinner."

See, there's this thing he does, where, if he's upset, he lectures and nags and gets upset at everybody and everything but what's actually upsetting him. Please keep this in mind, Raven?

"She's not usually like that." she glances over at him, still scratching just behind the cat's ears. "... she's one of the sweetest girls a person can meet, I don't know what got into her."

When the cat struggles to get away, she puts him on the floor, letting him dash to the other side of the room where some of his toys are.

"I don't know..."

There's a dog in the living room, laying on the floor and attempting to hide behind a curtain. His green paws and tail can probably be seen pretty clearly, but Gar's attempting to stay out of the way. He's trying not to think, too, because he'll just get jumbled again if he tries.

He's got an iPod on, nearby, and he'll just lay here until he comes across the right things to say to the right people.

Gar's attempts to hide were comical at best. Kitty was doing a pretty good job herself, finding various things to do that made her suspiciously absent from the house but she knew she had to bite the bullet and talk with him sooner or later. It wasn't that she wanted to defend herself, exactly-- more like clear the air. Megan hadn't told the WHOLE story-- only the really, really bad parts. And that wasn't really fair, was it?

She had needed time to think about what she was going to say, how she was going to make this better. Kitty didn't really know if she could but she would try.

Kitty moved the curtain aside gently.

"Any room for one more behind here?"

He didn't know when or if he'd been expecting anybody to show up, or it he'd meant to seek them out later, but... Well, there was Kitty. He jerked and popped onto his feet, looking rather properly like a startled dog. Inspecting the immediate area, he answered, "I think we're better off finding somewhere a little more roomy." The tone was casual, maybe a little downtrodden. He felt... Strange.

He shifted back into a human being, a corner of his mouth quirking up slightly. "Outside? Kinda' cold, but... It's a pretty place. I thought about going for a fly, a little bit ago."

"Yeah. I'll get my coat."

She didn't expect him to so readily agree to talk. He wasn't really good at this working stuff out thing but Kitty appreciated that he was really trying. It was making her feel a lot less nervous. In moments she was back and zipped up into her heavy coat, scarf around her neck.

"Lead the way."

Should she start talking now? Wait until they were outside? Kitty didn't even know where to begin. If she were him... well, she would probably be less willing to listen.
