He likes walking, actually. It puts him right down in it- people and animals and nature, commotion and bustling. Cars and buses pass as he keeps a brisk pace. Only stopping to buy coffee from a street vendor before being on his way.
He is blissfully unaware that he's being watched. Papers tucked under one arm, and the warm cup of coffee occupying his other hand, he smiles as an old woman passes him.

One to watch, for the sake of his commanding officer. One to save, once.
He shakes off those thoughts, and proceeds to follow Skyfire smoothly. In the way he moves, he is not in a rush, and he can avoid people easily. In a way, he's almost like oil, slipping by people as he trails after Skyfire.
He seems fine. Mentally, Soundwave notes this; Skyfire has not experienced a change. Situation secure.

He doesn't seem to see the oncoming truck... nor does the truck driver see him.
Skyfire is turning the other way.
He's not going to see it in time.

Neither happens.
There is no point in waiting or keeping silent. Soundwave shoves aside someone, crouching for a split second before he suddenly sprints across the street. Skyfire is much taller, much broader than he is, but with enough force--
The Decepticon leaps and collides against Skyfire, knocking him across the pavement and away from the truck. It honks as it drives and barely slows down enough, already moving over the crosswalk.
Soundwave himself rolls and hits the street, his arm hitting sharply against a parked car's bumper. It makes a loud SNAP.
Bright, sudden pain fills his arm. Soundwave grits his teeth and curls onto his side, clutching his arm. He turns his head trying to see Skyfire. If he is injured.
