True to her word, Mariko headed down to the infirmary where Warren said he was currently healing. He'd be taken to jail soon, according to Scott, until everything was cleared up. And given what she'd seen-- she understood the necessity.

But it didn't make her any less angry. At Warren and Scott for keeping this secret, at Joker for attacking him, at Hodge for taking advantage of the situation. Moreover, she was worried. It'd been easy to get Angel into a depressive mood lately and this probably wasn't helping.

She knocked on the door but didn't wait for him to respond before she invited herself in. Her arms were folded lightly over her chest and she gave him a quick appraisal.

"You look like crap."

She frowned again. "I don't understand. Why would you changing to this form blow their cover if you had nothing to do with them? Who would know?"

He shook his head and just turned over in the bed so that he wasn't facing her; she wouldn't get it. None of them would, which is exactly why this was kept quiet like it was. "Everyone. Too risky."
