Maya was on her way back from lunch. She had actually gone to a sandwich place this time, and had two neatly wrapped extras in her bag for Nick and Door. (They were probably going to get all mushy, but hey. If Nick didn't like it he could make his own sandwich!)

It was a pretty nice day, though. So she wasn't in a hurry to get home. She even took a detour through the park, semi-tempted to find a bench somewhere and sit down and relax. Before spotting a bench, however, Maya spotted something else entirely. Was that...?

Hey, it was! It was... that guy! Uh... oh that's right, she didn't know his name. But she knew who he was! And he was reading a map.

"Hey!" She waved.

The "Hey!" went disregarded for a moment, until Zelgadis could see a pair of feet from under his hood, standing still. He lifted his head a bit--it was a short, dark-haired girl. Not the one he was looking for, but.

He glanced left and right--maybe there was someone else to 'hey' at. There wasn't. He looked back over, blinking at her as if to say 'Who, me?'.

It took him a bit to respond. Maybe he was thinking about something? She approached when he blinked at her, waving again. "Hi!"

The not-knowing-his name thing was making this a little weird. "I'm Maya! I talked to you on the comm. At some point. I think." That was the same person, wasn't it? Who needed to cheer up.

Yeah, him. She didn't seem entirely surprised to see him--face and all, and Zelgadis had to begin wracking his brain, trying to place the face or the voice. The explanation helped, but he still shifted awkwardly where he sat, unsure of how to respond.

"Aa, right," he faltered, slapping a hand on the map a little too hard to keep it from flying off. He grimaced, already feeling out of place (well, moreso).

That gap of silence wasn't going to fill itself.

"...Hi."
