Waspinator.

He's not sure if he's hurt anyone more than this one.

No, wait, there are probably a few, but Waspinator is up there.

He hovers in spark form for a while, just hovering there, a tiny ball of light, easily mistaken for a glint of sunlight.

He's not even sure if he can speak.

They have a lot in common, really. The universe itself seems to continually thwart their efforts at getting what they want.

He sighs - which comes out as a crackling, buzzing noise.

"I'm sorry," he says.

No introduction. No announcement. Just the apology, from nowhere.

Starscream slowly shimmered into being then, appearing to sit perched, like some vast, predatory bird, atop one of the spires.

"Somewhat," he said, his violet eyes strange.

Starscream was having the same problem. He'd find himself thinking about the Great Shutdown, or about Ultra Magnus, before remembering that no, these memories weren't his.

Though he's still angry (still, despite having no pride or ambition) about what Shockwave did to him - livid, in fact - he also now has respect for the Decepticon. This Shockwave did more for his Cybertron than Starscream could have imagined, his plans were terrifying in their elegance.

And so, he owed Shockwave an apology.

He slipped back into the lab through the wall, then hovered in the air, waiting for Shockwave to notice his presence.

The feeling had been mutual. The anger, the uncontrollable rage that had built up inside. All of it unwanted, and he hadn't been able to do a thing about it. Thankfully it had passed. He would never allow such an illogical thing to force its way into his processors again.

Again. Ha.

That was what he said the first time he had felt something, and yet here it had happened again. What was this carbon based form doing to him.

It had taken Shockwave a while before he took notice of the spark floating there. Now what? So much for having the lab to himself. He arched a brow, giving Starscream a rather blank yellow gaze.

"Yes? What do you want, Starscream?"

"To... apologize," he says, flickering slightly.

"I wish to apologize," he says again. "For what I've done to you."

He sighed. "I... would like to think that I understand you now. A little. You..."

"... I cannot forgive you, Shockwave," he says, finally. "What you did to me was painful, and you may go on about the logic of it all but Primus, it hurt."

"But you still... deserved better from me. All along you have. And I think I understand that now."

"You are far more than the Shockwave I knew. And perhaps he, too, deserved better from me."

The thing about being unable to feel sadness was, that whatever memories Duo could dredge up that were related to sadness instead bypassed directly to feelings of anger. Rage, in the worst cases- and he found himself having to actively keep himself in check when things would upset him. He had almost been quick to fly into violence a few times, already- it was strange, to be happy and cheerful one moment and threatening someone the next, boiling over in anger.

Despite that, he was feeling better than he ever had in his life- no more moping around, no more sadness for everything he'd experienced, no more regret- at least not the despair that came with it. And at the moment he was... well, feeling quite peaceful with himself, sitting on a park bench, eating lunch. It was a little wet outside but that just made the greenery of the park smell a little nicer- fresh Earth. Something he could never experience on the colonies.

Right now, chasing down any enemies was the last thing on his mind.

Starscream was looking for Death.

She seemed to like parks, so he floated through the park listlessly, trying to find her.

It was at that point that he came across Duo.

He hovered, glimmering, trying to figure out where he'd seen this one before. If he'd seen this one. It was strange, he was familiar, yet..?

Maybe it was being one of Death's that then made Duo enjoy the park so much- or rather, it was the inherent peacefulness of it, maybe. Death was very peaceful, so it was familiar.

This week was.. strange for him, in that way, because he'd never been peaceful before. Being forcefully devoid of any sadness was a very new thing- from the start really, as long as he could remember he'd had things to be sad about, and even after he'd let that go and turned the other cheek, decided to smile in the face of adversity ( ... )

Finally, Starscream manifests an image - his robot mode, this time going for a more modern look, the same one he wore that strange day in the city, but smaller, only about six feet tall. He's not sure why he picks that particular form, but, well.

A lack of pride or ambition has not lessened his strange sense of humor, or his tendency to snark.

He "leans" on the bench, looking at the birds which had gathered to pick up Duo's scraps, and says nothing, waiting for the human to notice his presence.

After being freed from prison crackofthunder June 14 2009, 19:13:11 UTC
Thundercracker had been polymorphed in prison, and that made him cast aside the plan to obey human laws and see if he couldn't be freed through their system. There was no reason to trust that an Autobot-led police force could be trusted. So once Soundwave engineered his release, he immediately tracked down his suit of armor, with every intention to live in it as much as possible. He felt like he'd been his own worst enemy for millions of years, and finally, everything felt as right as it was supposed to feel.

And before Friday. Sorry for the late tag. loltraitorlol June 16 2009, 00:23:51 UTC
Starscream found Thundercracker wearing the battle armor he had constructed, looking every bit like himself. Glimmering slightly in his spark form, he manifested his ghost shape, then spoke.

"Thundercracker," he said. "We must talk."

The head of the armored suit turns from Thundercracker's intended liftoff. He'd heard something about this... but it's still extremely strange.

Yet it's Starscream. He's hard-pressed to really care.

"Must we?" is the terse response.

"We can talk while flying if you like," he says. "And if you truly do not wish to hear what I have to say, I will leave you be."

"I wish to offer my apologies to you for
my past actions," he continued. "And there is something you should know about the future, back home."
