POSTING ORDER: Rimmer, Kirk, Spock, Nygma, Stark.

[He nods at Nygma and Stark as they arrive, and then checks his watch. They had to get moving.]

All right, lads, looks like we're the only players tonight. So let's get this pantomime on the highway. If any others show up, we'll find 'em later.

Here's what we're after: We need to know exactly how many Polymorphs have been 'Ported in. So we're looking for logs, records, video recordings, anything that'll help us out.

Let's do this thing.

[And he leads the way into the Tower.]

[Spock hears the noise too, and nods at Jim almost imperceptibly. He prepares one of the tranquilizers and follows the Captain down the hallway. After a few steps, he turns back to the others and holds up a hand to signal for them to wait. With their current homicidal inclinations towards the polymorphs, this might be the one chance he gets to catch one.]

[ooc: I already volunteered Spock to be effected. Perhaps in his effort to capture one the polymorph one could go ahead and nom him? If one goes after him it'll turn into old!Spock, ftr. Also, they could kill it very shortly after, since the plot is basically over in real time anyhow. So, yeah. Assuming that's cool, idk.]

[Edward, too, reacted with alertness to the noise. Easing back, he spared his attention down the hallway. The other two seemed to be taking care of the matter well enough; clearly the fellows were from the same world. They could read each other. Edward's attention was needed elsewhere. But still... Edward paused, torn between his investigation and aiding the others.]

[ Tony only shot a cursory glance in the direction of Kirk and Spock. Accessing the tapes was far more important at the moment. They could try and take out the polymorph. They weren't strong things. A repulsor shot would take one out. ]

Accessing video--

[ Tony only finds corrupted files in the Security Tapes. ]

They're corrupted. I think we know who to blame for that.

...Damn.

[He's glancing out the door every second or so, and then back to Tony's work. He smacks his fist into his palm and then sighs.]

We've got to figure out some way to count the things, otherwise we're never going to know when we're done fighting them. I...

[He doesn't get to finish. As Spock, Kirk and Nygma creep down the hallway, a doorknob flows off a door behind them like water, where it cascades to the ground and 'morphs into a gigantic spider. A gigantic spider. Like...six feet tall and 180 pounds worth of spider. It raises a leg and lets out an inhuman shriek (which is what interrupted Ace), trying to knock all three of the men in the hall down to the ground.]

[Spock, of course, ignores Jim's order and charges straight for the giant spider. Jumping up onto the thing -- careful to avoid any teeth in the process -- he jams the tranq into the juncture between the spider's head and abdomen. Spock pauses, waiting for it to take effect. Naturally, he knows the formula was developed for humanoids, and humanoids of a significantly smaller mass, thus if the spider does go down it'll be for a few minutes. Maybe.

As it is, the creature lumbers around a bit. Seems like the tranquilizer did little more than disorient it. Spock makes a mental note that the giant spiders are to be avoided and makes a quick dash back towards the others.]

[Edward was caught between the disappointed of their dead end with the tapes and the horrific discovery of a massive spider appearing. Spock and Kirk had the matter swiftly under control; until the tranqs only added the smallest of effect. Bloody hell. Gritting his teeth, Eddie clutched his cane and swung at the beast, whacking it viciously into submission.]

[ Tony looked calmly from the wall to the beast, and outstretched a hand. ]

Move.

[ He's chargin' his laser, guys. ]

[Ace moves. Out of the line of fire, running full-tilt towards whoever happens to be closest to the Polymorph. Which, in this case, is Nygma. Gotta get him down before the thing is reduced to a pulpy mass of goo.]

[Naturally, Spock can't just let Tony kill an innocent life form, right? That'd be against Starfleet's mission. When Nygma finally stops beating the thing, he moves to stand in the way of Iron Man's aim, fairly confident that Stark won't fire on an ally.]

I will not stand by and allow the destruction of this creature. Perhaps if I were to--

[Whatever Spock was going to say is cut off by a loud roar from the spider thing. Mere moments later the polymorph has turned into a crawling slug creature that, he would estimate, is about 3 feet long with greyish purple skin and a wide teeth filled mouth. It begins to move down the hallway at remarkable speed for lacking legs. Spock waits for a moment, then giving Jim a glance that he hopes the Captain understands, starts to follow it.]

((ooc: Hey, guys. Sorry for the epic delay and I hope it's cool that I somewhat ended the direct polymorph attack. If not, I can rewrite, no prob.]

[Eddie didn't need to be told twice. He was more than well aware of Iron Man's suit abilities, and frankly, being fried along with the Polymorph wasn't on his list of things to accomplish.

When the thing reverted to form, Edward narrowed his eyes at the specimen. How curious, really.]

[ Tony watched the beast for the briefest moment, before powering down his repulsors. ]

It's heading out. It's no longer a direct threat. Let's get what we came for.

[What to do? Go after the thing, or get the info? Damn, he wishes he could be in two places at once...Delegation time.]

All right. Stark, Nygma, can you two try to unscramble any info you find here? I'm going after the Polymorph with Kirk and Spock. We've got to get that thing before it gets anybody else.
