Somehow, the vigilante knew Doctor Manhattan was gone. Perhaps it had to do with the psychotic episode he'd suffered just a day or two before. Not knowing the cause, exactly - or maybe he did, but refused to acknowledge it - Rorschach was slowly sliding back to recovery. As much as he could recover. One could call the man insane in the first place; Delirium's ordeal only made it more public.

He was nocturnal for the most part. Although Rorschach was active during the day, those hours were his preferred sleeping time. The night called to criminals, the scum of the earth, beckoning cockroaches to do their duties in the darkness.

A false sense of security. Nobody was safe from Rorschach's after-hours prowling.

And it seemed tonight he got lucky. Not just a typical mugger harassing some young woman, trying to rape her or steal her purse or both. Someone was using explosivesThe vigilante hustled toward the store he was sure he'd heard the noise erupt from. Ducking into shadows and staying low. The ever-shifting mask peered around the ( ... )

A silent beat struck between the moment the explosion cleared and when he was going to plant his first foot inside the building. However, something, or more like someone made him falter.

The Cajun quirked a brow, and turned around so that he was facing the newcomer. Whoever it was didn't seem to be making any sudden moves. Just... standing there. Really quietly. This could either be a small threat or a massive one. It was kind of creepy.

"Uh... evening, homme!" He cheerfully chimed out, standing amidst the debris. There was no covering it, really.

Without a word in reply, Rorschach advanced. He walked swiftly, his steps full of self-assurance, preparing himself for a fight. It was to be expected in this city.
