There.
With a screech of tires, he turned the motorcycle down the avenue, and sped towards where Blackarachnia was running from a rather large monster. Or, at least it looked like she was trying. Optimus cut the ignition and skidded the bike to a halt, leaving it on the sidewalk. In one fluid motion, he ripped his helmet off, dumped it near the bike, and pulled out his axe, rushing for the beast.
He leaped at the thing, slicing a high, wide arc and driving the axe into the monster's back.

"Come on, let's get you to a medic so you can patch up that ankle," he said, offering a hand to help her up.

She turned and began to limp back in the direction of the MAC. She felt as if she could drop at any moment, worn out from running so much, so much energy used up using Optimus's strength and she hadn't yet had any sleep.

"At least stay off of it and let it heal," he asked, starting up the ignition and pulling on his helmet.

"Just a ride back to the MAC, no slagging medics?" she hissed through clenched teeth.

There was clearly no room for argument here.

He didn't say anything during the ride, deep in his own thoughts. WHY did he keep trying to help her? Did he think some part of her, deep down, was still Elita? Of course, that week that Elita HAD been here had screwed everything up. They'd been close that week and...
Optimus pushed that thought aside. This was Blackarachnia, who had demonstrated time and again that she was no longer Elita. The sooner he got that through his processors, the better. Maybe next time he should just let her do her own thing.
... And that next time might be the time she dies, his conscience reminded him.
But she was a Decepticon.
Who didn't always act like one.
Ugh, he was going to give himself a headache if he thought about this too hard.
Finally, they rolled up in front of the MAC, and Optimus idled the bike into its proper parking space. "Here we are," he said. "Can you make it up the stairs?"

And nearly every time it ended the same. "Fool." she mumbled as the bike turned toward the MAC
Blackarachnia tore off the helmet the moment they had stopped, thrusting it toward Otpimus after nearly falling off the bike. She cursed under her breath as she landed awkwardly on her ankle yet again.
"I'll be fine!" she yelled, narrowed eyes glowing brightly in his direction. It was an obvious lie.

He walked slowly though - he was tired, after all, and desperately in need of a shower.
That, and Blackarachnia really DID need help up the stairs. She just had to realize it herself.

Wisely, he didn't add "because this is kind of embarrassing."

So, he went down a few stairs, knowing she couldn't escape him, and scooped her up, wincing a little as he prepared for the flurry of punches he expected, and started climbing the stairs again.

Finally, they arrived at their adjacent doors, and Optimus set Blackarachnia down gently. He then turned to his own door, and hoped he could get inside before the inevitable poisoning happened.
