[He spoke in a lower voice, one to mimic Mitchell's. He knew who was coming -- his informants (the secretaries!) had given him moment's forewarning.

Mitchell was out. But the Deputy Mayor was in, and sitting squarely in Mitchell's worn leather swivel chair with its back towards the door. As Norman entered, Eddie kept his positioning, completely hidden from immediate view.

And he tried so hard not to snicker.]

[ Norman let himself in, holding his briefcase up at the ready. He waltzed toward Mitch's desk, striding with purpose. No apologies for arriving uninvited. ]

I think you'll be pleased to know I'm far ahead of schedule, Mr. Hundred.

[Edward spun in the chair, making a crescent in place to move one hundred and eighty degrees. A full front. He faced Norman with glee written upon his face, his long fingers tensely tented.]
