Kurt arrived via his usual way of transportation, appearing on a nearby rooftop to look down into the street below first. He'd expected more people to be at a theater, rather than simply the small figure that he assumed Selina. No matter, though. That simply made his entrance a little easier.

He teleported down, arriving a few feet from Selina and reaching up to take off his hat. Stalking around New York in a big coat and a hat had often been his quasi-disguise, and some habits stuck with you.

"Guten Abend, Selina," he greeted, smiling. He then gestured to the space around them, the quiet street. "Color me intrigued."

"Kurt." She grinned like she was up to something. "You're right on time."

She handed him a little playbill. A double feature of Captain Blood and the Princess Bride. "Shall we?"

Oh.

That was... Incredibly thoughtful, perhaps. Really nice? Definitely touching? He had his mouth open for a moment to respond to the piece of paper he'd been given, but the words didn't happen right away. It was certainly more elaborate than he'd been expecting. Along with being temporarily lost for words in admiration of this act, he also felt he had half a mind to reprimand her. This wasn't necessary in the slightest, and it must have cost something to rent a cinema, and--

Her question reached him before a conclusion did. Ach.

"As you wish," he responded, smiling and bemused. The answer came out smoothly enough, and he moved to hold the door open for her. "You really don't cut corners, huh?"

"Nope." And it's not a big deal to her. She has money to throw around and she's used to planning far more complicated evenings than sitting and watching movies. This was the same woman who took her friend on a lengthy road trip to surprise her with a reunion with her long-lost brother, after all.

Still, she appears incredibly pleased with herself at his surprise. She leads the way into the theater up towards the private balconies. A little table stands by one of the doors with a few boxes of take-out from one of the better German restaurants in town.

"Help yourself." She grabs a little bit of food for herself before stepping out to the balcony.
