WHO: damnrunt and girlverine WHERE: Laura's apartment. WHEN: Backdated to December 10th! WARNINGS: Probably none. SUMMARY: Don't take rides from strangers. FORMAT: Words.
Laura knew Logan was at the door a few moments before he knocked, and she sat up a bit straighter instinctively, startling the puppy in her lap. He had said he wished to speak to her, but somehow she hadn't thought he would just...turn up.
Though it made sense that he had.
She waited until he actually knocked before she set the dog on the floor, and the puppy went racing off to the door ahead of her. A moment later she followed, pulling it open and automatically stepping back for Logan to come inside. "Hello."
Oh, right, and the dog was running circles around the man's legs. Sniffing away happily, tail wagging wildly.
Logan seemed calm, if a little raw around the edges. The aftermath of the fight still resonated, threatened to kick him back to square one. He'd dealt with what needed to be dealt with back home, but this place had made the pain twice as bad, and that would take a while to get over.
But seeing her--that she was here, and okay--brought him down a little. It was too late for the others, but he wasn't fucking this up.
He glanced at the puppy, ignoring its efforts to get his attention. "Hey, kid."
"Hey," was Laura's response to his greeting, closing the door behind him as he came in. She leaned down to scoop up the puppy, holding the squirming bundle of energy against her chest until he started to calm down. He seemed intent on licking her chin, but she ignored him.
"What do you want to talk about?" She could guess, but she wasn't going to just come right out about it.

There were other things to discuss, things Logan didn't want to talk about--but it'd been long enough.
