AND OPEN for Oswald motherflocker December 13 2011, 00:57:33 UTC
Of course the host began the night at the top of the stairs, announcing a grand opening, and greeting the greatest and brightest in the City. Hands shook, conversations begun, and then artfully slid out of with promises to speak later, although for much of it, it seemed as if the monocled host would spend a great deal of time on his own table, up the stairs and secluded from the little people. He waved through who he wished, and even occasionally, he did make his rounds once again, a slow step and a lit cigarette, the smoke curling over the tops of the heads of the guests, even when the owner would be hard to spot through the crowd.

The penguins weren't the only reminder of old careers. Selina's dress certainly hadn't been chosen by accident.

"Oswald," she said in cool greeting as she entered. "The place looks great."

He reached up, meaty hands reaching out to grasp hers in greeting. "Selina! It's wonderful that you could join us tonight."

Whether she accepted the contact or not, of course, was up to her.

The slightest touch before she withdrew her hand and let it fall to her side. "I never miss the big parties here, Ozzie."

Selina was there, wearing purple leopard print and a dark little smile. She kept a drink in hand and her eyes on the crowd. Looking perhaps a bit too much at home among Gotham's less reputable residents.

Really, she had little in the way of plans for the night. More curiosity as to what Oswald had in store, who would show up. And she did so love a good party.

"Hello Cross." She still didn't know much about him, but what she did know was entertaining. "How goes the adultery?"

OPEN 2: the return of mr. kinley nottheanswers December 13 2011, 01:09:44 UTC
[Mr. Kinley took a table not far from the stage, enjoying the entertainment and the wine. His eye, as ever, wanders, taking note of every who that's a who to notice, his mind never far from business, despite the pleasures that surround him.]

[Kinley raises his glass in greeting.]

Mr. Blake, always a pleasure. But I do tend to go where the business takes me, and there's no place to be seen quite like the Iceberg Lounge this evening.

[Were it not for Black Mask's charred head, he would blend in nicely with the rest of the tuxedo wearing crowd. Whether he's prowling through the arrivals or sitting at a table all alone, he always has a drink in hand and a glint in his eyes.]

[ He gets a bitter glare when Selina first spots him. And then he gets ignored. ]

[That glare gives him a warm fuzzy feeling and he gets the distinct urge to tell Lust "fuck you", but instead he grins and takes a sip of his drink, purposefully ignoring Selina for the time being.]

[ Julian hesitated before approaching Roman. They were not friends, but it felt slightly more awkward to ignore him than not. ]

[ bruce, dressed up in a blond wig, fake mustache and dyed eyebrows, is fairly content to switch between people watching and mingling just enough that he doesn't look suspicious. there's one glass that stays in his hand all night, full enough that no one's going to ask him if he wants a refill, but empty enough that it looks like he's drinking.

he's going by the name doyle tonight. doyle yates. which could flow better, but that's not why he picked it. ]

[What a very strange man across the bar. She doesn't really make a move to talk to him, but there's something quite off about a man that doesn't drink much.]

[ when he notices her looking at him, bruce gives joan a small smile and inclines his head in a sort of a greeting. ]

[Poor thing, maybe she would even help him out with the drinking problem. She sends a drink his way before offering a coy smile. Don't let that good suit go to waste by being sober.]
