[Wes was in luck -- Andromeda was indeed the one who answered the door.]

Ah, hello. I just finished up, so you've got good timing.

[No brief glimpses of half-naked Andromeda, sorry.]

[She smiles briefly.]

Didn't change your mind at the last minute?

No! No, of course not. You look very nice.

[He just looks at her for a moment. Not in a creepy lustful way, but in a way that suggests he appreciates her.]

I'm glad to hear I haven't completely lost my ability to not look like a slob going out to dinner.

[She laughs, starting to shrug on her coat. No need to waste the taxi driver's time.]

You're looking well yourself, really. Probably better than me, with how I overexerted myself on Thanksgiving.

[He's a complete gentleman as they walk to the taxi, holding the door open and everything! The driver already knows where they're heading so Wes simply sits back and attempts to remain calm and collected]

Ah, well, I believe you look perfect any way.

Yes, well, you wouldn't be the only one.

[She might not have lost everything by marrying Ted, but -- her sisters, her fortune, and most of her security ... that was almost everything.]

[He was blushing at the insinuation that he was a lone soul, and in a way what that just how he was acting? Really was it any wonder his father was so ashamed of him.]

So, should we try and salvage this evening with dessert or would you prefer to retire?

I can't say no to a good plate of sweets.

[And really, this -- could've gone worse, Wes. Not in many ways, but at least she only felt vaguely insulted now.]

[He nods and when the waiter cleans up he orders them both dessert.

She may not have walked out, but he still felt like an idiot and there more than likely won't be a second date. It was probably foolish to have asked for a first date.]

I hope your daughter isn't waiting up.
