The door opened soon after Maggie arrived. Cass peeked out, and then smiled when she saw that who it was. "Hi," she said, motioning for her to come inside.

The Batgirl House was probably about the same as she remembered, except a little bit messier. After all, it'd been Cass and Charlie on their own for a while, and neither one was particularly keen on cleaning. Clothes were draped across furniture and there may be one or two empty soda cans on the coffee table, but nothing too horrible.

Had the clothes and cans been replaced by books, it would have looked like her and her sisters' home on a cleaner day.

She held out the book. "I... I don't know how much you've come along in your reading, but I thought it might be useful." It was a reader designed for adult learners of written English, whether ESL or late literacy training. "I already read through it, the story's kind of cute."

Stephanie had to brace herself. It had been nearly a month since she last set foot in their apartment. She carried a small pumpkin cake she had baked and used it as some sort of shield as she knocked.

Knocked because even if this was technically her place too it wasn't the same anymore.

"Oh. Uh. Thanks," she said, taking the book from Maggie. Truth be told, she hadn't practiced much at all in Maggie's absence, so she'd probably regressed. She didn't want to admit that, so she just put the book to the side for now.

She returned to the door when the second knock came. She opened it a crack, and then threw it open, smiling widely and quite thrilled just to see Steph back home, even if it wasn't permanently. And the other girl didn't seem nearly as happy. "Um, hey."
