[ Erik had grown used to living out of a suitcase over the years. He had taken Charles' encouragement to settle into his apartment, but his belongings were still sparse enough to fit into only a few boxes. Once he had double and triple-checked his apartment to ensure that he had collected everything, he made his way down the hallway to Charles' apartment. He did not bother knocking at this point, as he knew that he was expected, and he did not want to interrupt Charles from whatever task he may have been in the middle of. He easily opened the door. ]

Charles?

[When he did not see the other man in the living room, the kitchen was the first place that he looked, smiling just slightly as he set eyes on the other man.]

[ Charles heard Erik coming before his voice was echoing through his apartment. He lifted himself from his position, bent over to dig through the remainder of his tea boxes and finding the tea he appreciated the most. Then he sat himself up, fussing with the kettle for only a moment before he was peeking out of the kitchen and smiling. ] I am just making tea, Erik.

Thank you for coming. Do you think you can lift those -- ah, heavier boxes?

[ Erik chuckles a bit and gives a nod. ]

Of course.

[ He resists the urge to make a quip about Charles needing him to be the man in their relationship, but the thoughts are still there as he takes a seat while waiting for the tea. ]

[ Charles smiles at that and quietly begins to prepare both of their cups of tea. He starts to bring both of the cups out to the table, setting them down and taking a seat quietly. He'd left out one book, which he immediately flipped open, as though he intended to continue to read alongside drinking his tea. ]

I know what you're thinking. I disagree with it.

[ His voice is so flat, unamused. He glances up at Erik then and stares at him. ]

[ Erik tilts his head at Charles. ]

You know that I only meant it in jest. I hardly believe that you are any less of a man than myself.
