[Tim catches the bat (it squeaks) and gives Kon a small, slightly strained, slightly wry smile. He didn't need the reminder that Dick is still dead - and he may never get used to the way the City brings people back, the way it affects some people's concept of murder and the weird sense of waiting that gets mixed in with the familiar sense of loss - but it's not like Kon meant to put his foot in his mouth.]

It's okay. I think he'd appreciate the joke. [He squeezes the bat, making it squeak again, then gives the vampire costume a skeptical look.] Don't you think I spend enough time wearing a cape? Besides, I'm not that pale.

[Steph wasn't sure about going to Zatanna's BBQ, but there was nothing wrong with getting into the Halloween spirit, so she was using her free time to hunt for a costume which really wasn't much fun when you were alone. Then she heard two familiar voices.

She stayed in the back watching them for a bit feeling a little like a stalker before making an appearance through the shadows popping up right next to Kon]

I don't know Timmy I've seen you glowing at night before.

[Before Conner can reply to Tim, Stephanie pops up and makes him jump. At least he doesn't let out the yelp that almost came out.]

How do you Bats always do that? [He glares at her, making sure to keep his voice down.] How you all can creep up on a guy with super hearing is beyond me.
