It was a good thing he wasn't going to be spending it alone for much longer ( ... )

Had he been home on the Sunny, perhaps charged with keeping watch, Sanji wouldn't have been nearly so startled by the sound of her voice. He didn't even hear her coming, and when she spoke he flailed so ridiculously that he almost toppled off the foredeck into the water. As it was, the fishing pole went in with a soft plop. "L-lady Ysera!" he yelped, recovering quickly and stumbling to his feet. "Ah - sorry! I wasn't expecting you so soon. Er, not this morning anyway."

Sanji stepped down to greet her properly, rearranging his wind-tossed blond hair with a hand. "I'm so glad you decided to join me. You're welcome onboard anytime."

She jerked her head around at the yelp and flail and then stood up to come closer. "Oh dear, I'm sorry Sanji. I didn't mean to startle you. Should I have sent a message first?"

She glanced back at where the pole had gone overboard. She'd have to get that back for him. With a slight tug on her imagination, she sent a proxy to retrieve it for them. Then she turned back to Sanji with a smile. "Thank you. Still, I should have announced myself."

"No, no, it's fine. It's perfectly fine. I should have been paying more attention." It was way too easy to be relaxed in this world, with no real threats even in these waters. Sanji was instantly in host mode, coming to Ysera with a big smile. "I suppose I should add, welcome to Martinique. That's the name of the island we're closest to."

He led her to the rear deck of the sailboat, which was broadest and had seating in the form of benches around the rim. It also looked out, currently, on the black sand beach and the thick forest of palm trees. The roar of waves lapping at the shore and rustle of leaves formed a comforting background sound. "What do you think? Isn't it beautiful~?"
