Gamzee didn't wait for an invitation to step in. As he went into the apartment he was tempted to brush off some of what was on his shoulders, but he resisted the urge thinking that now was not the best time to piss off Eridan. He could do that after they'd talked.

Eridan didn't seem particularly surprised. Or worried. He didn't seem much of anything, at the news, or in general; just shut the door after Gamzee and brushed past him into the kitchen. His grilled salmon was just finishing up, and Eridan used the dish as an excuse to completely ignore his kismesis.
"Don't get that shit on my carpet," was all he called back.
Eridan wasn't sure where to start, and opted instead for an old favorite: ignoring the issue(s) completely. Maybe they would just go away.

Instead he walked over to the kitchen sink and half brushed and half shook everything off like a dog. There, that wasn't on the damn carpet.
Gamzee paused, doing much more of that was going to start an actual fight and he needed to get this talk started before then. He couldn't start this off with what Ed said was a falsehood a few days ago. As much as Tavros' rejection was pushing him in that direction starting off with a question about Eridan's red feelings seemed like a poor decision to be making. Sure as fuck never went well enough for him before to mention anything like that to someone else without warning.
All the same, he didn't have to start anything off in kimessitude either. Maybe if he preps things for red it'll go over better.
The words come out like they have be hauled out of him "We're motherfuckin' sorry for getting at saying that what you weren't at being was a prize. That's not on in being the truth"
