[Peter is cooking dinner, if by cooking dinner you mean "choosing what frozen entrees to stick in the microwave." At the sound of the door slamming he sticks his head out of the kitchenette.]

Jess, izzat you?

[Seeing her expression, he hastily stows the meals on the counter for now and comes back out, brushing his hands off on his jeans.]

What's the matter, what happened?

Nothing happened.

[ she's pretty firm about this, proceeding to dump her backpack on the couch and tromp across the living room, towards the single bedroom, her head down. ]

[Peter leans on his hip against the doorjamb, brow raised.]

I didn't know imaginary events could make people that sad.

[He makes to follow her, then stops halfway.]

Come on, Jess, you know you can talk to me about anything. Or we can get some ice cream and drown your misery if you'd rather.
