Next to that, sea foam green is practically mundane. Of course, her impression of a wallflower would not be complete without lingering near walls; a task at which Ruka excels. Like usual, her sleeves come down to the wrists, and gloves cover hands and fingers, so her arms remain completely covered. Probably a good idea, for how high-cranked the AC is.

She's not very talkative on good days, so her practically perpetual dour mood which will just make her the most engaging shopping accompaniment ever.

"Listen, Ruka, if any any moment you want to go home, just say the word and I'll take you." While Tonks has something in mind for Ruka and while she thinks it will be good for her to get out, the last thing Tonks wants to do is make her feel worse.

Ruka gives Tonks a curious look, trying not to bristle at the implicit coddling. "I'll be fine," is what she says, placation in her tone. It takes effort to smile, but it appears natural once it blooms on her face. "You don't have to worry about me."

Tonks may not have to worry about Ruka. She's going to anyway. "Alright then."

Luna is quietly sitting outside the entrance, in a long skirt with her hair pulled back by a bunny-themed hair-tie, too engrossed in her very important people watching to notice who has (or hasn't) arrived yet.

"Luna!" Tonks waves her over. She needs to introduce her to Ruka or at least find out first if they know each other.

“Tonks?” She looks away from the sight of an oddly-dressed man trying to chat up a confused young lady to turn to her friend. Her face breaking out into a big grin, she starts jogging up to the older woman and her companion.

“Am I late? Sorry about that, I really should get a Remeberall, I’m always forgetting times...”

"No, you're not late. Not everyone's here yet anyway." Tonks looks over at Ruka and then back to Luna. "Have you met Ruka yet?"

Ginny had some trouble finding the place. New York is just absolutely massive, if she's honest, and it's not like she can go everywhere by broomstick.

And then she has to spend a few minutes just staring at the size of this place full of shops. It's like Diagon Alley squared. Except not magical, but still, it's fairly impressive. Luckily enough, so is the shade of Tonks' hair, and Ginny spots her fairly quickly.

"Tonks!" She flashes a grin as she runs up beside her, holding her little phone device thing. "I got your wordy things. Take it this is the right place, then. It's amazing."

Tonks waves, "It occurs to me Ginny that I missed your birthday. What's say I get you something scandalous while we're inside?" Ginny is free to interpret scandalous in anyway that she wants.

"You missed my..." Ginny trails away, thinking over the ramifications of this. "You're joking! That means I missed it too!"

Well, that was a turn up. Her birthday had been two months away when she left home, and now it was over. She shook her head.

"Hmm. Scandalous, that'd set the cat amongst the pigeons. I'm living with Fred and George and Ron's around pretending he's the same age as dad."

"Don't worry Ginny, I missed mine too. Well, I skipped over it entirely so I'm just going to spend an extra year being twenty-two." Yeah. Besides, she'd rather no think about how old the current year would actually make her.

"Yeah, scandalous. I was thinking of a maybe a skirt that hits at your calves. You should expose your ankles more Ginny. You're young."

And sometime later... fliesacomet260 August 23 2011, 17:50:35 UTC
Tonks picks up a pair of dark purple pumps. The heels are very high. She eyes it with great curiosity. "How does anyone walk in these? It looks more like a weapon than a shoe."

Fortunately for Tonks, Andromeda has some experience with Completely Ridiculous Shoes. Not personally, but having worked in St. Mungo's emergency ward ...

"It's my experience that at least 40% of the time -- they don't. And they are dangerous. You don't know how many times I've seen one of those go clear through a fellow's foot."

"They've actually..." Tonks puts down the purple shoe. She's not into them anyway. They look nice but she can't walk in them. Her mother's story just cements her vow to never wear a pair. "Really?" Ow.

"I don't know what possesses pureblood mothers to think buying their teenage daughters shoes taller than some of their wands is a good idea." She smirks, though, and shakes her head.

"And yes, really. Very dangerous. Although, I suppose if that's what they're going for..."
