[for all that the internet is said to make things easy, Vector still appriciates the value of a book. especially when Wikipedia fails to give him all he needs to know. which is why he is currently flipping through the pages of a thick one with a crystal on the cover, scanning its pages ah here. this is what he needs. right, now he just needs to take the notes, where's a free seat...

...

hey, he knows that person. cue him making his way through, very very tempted to just hover above them all but he may as well actually play at being human for now. and once he gets close enough;]

Aradia?

[Even if she didn't recognize the voice, which she does, she would recognize her name being called! Aradia looks up and smiles in his direction, although she keeps her voice politely low.]

Yes, hi! What are you doing here, Vector? [She just kind of assumed he knew pretty much everything!]

[tell that assumption to his face and he might laugh. instead he just smiles, a little]

Research, as you are, it looks like.

Haha, yes, that is pretty much what I'm doing. [She looks down dubiously at her bookpile.] I want to understand human schoolfeeding methods a little better before I make a final decision about what I want to do this fall. Although you probably don't have much experience with that either, sorry!

[Hiromi has some books on weight training in his hands. It seems lifting the books around is enough of training for him, though. When the books from Aradia's table fall on him, he murmurs weakly. He's far too used to this, really.]

You dropped this...

[She's too absorbed in her stupid book to immediately process what he's said, but then snaps her head up apologetically. Instead of bending down to pick the books up, however, Aradia goes for the faster fix, which is just levitating them off his foot and back up toward the table.]

--Oh, sorry about that! [She sits up, reaching out to gather them in her arms and lug them back onto the table, then looks at him with a sort of 8| expression.] Are you okay? Or is your foot okay, whatever.

[He blinks, watching the book move on its own. He smiles weakly at her concern, though.]

Oh... This is nothing... Gaou-kun can withstand more than this. Even I want to become closer to his strength...

[But ow. Yes, it did hurt. He doesn't wince too noticeably.]

How are you doing that?

Huh? Oh, it's just my power. [Assuming he's not also one:] That is, I'm an Import, and this is one of the things I do! I'm glad you weren't hurt.

[BUT THEN (while stacking the books more securely) SHE REALIZES. He's invoked the name of Equius' old vaguely mentorly type who got him to join that football team! He was involved with Himuro somehow too, wasn't he...? But he's gone, so how would this guy know about him unless--]

Wait, did you say Gaou?

[ Alex was doing a bit of research on his own, and had his arms full of a few books on politics. As he passes by, he can't help noticing the spread Aradia had on the table, or the topic most of them are about.

He readjusts his armload and pauses next to her table. ]

Quite a bit of studying you're doing there.

[She glances over in his direction, her expression mild, and kind of studies his face.]

Well, yes! I am trying to make a pretty important decision, so I've been hoping to evaluate all the possible factors feeding into it before choosing anything too lasting.

[ he adjusts his books again and plops them down on the table next to hers, then gives her books a closer inspection ]

About school? Well, that can be a tricky one.

It sounds like you have experience with this! I mean, obviously. [She pauses, her eyes flickering to the chandeliers above her and back.] What decision did you end up making?

Libraries had the rare quality of attracting him a great deal more than even the tempting sight of someone's haphazard care over their wallet and this one had done even more, the architecture on the outside making him stop just a moment at the foot of the stairs. A quick look over the building reveals its purpose and he's up the steps quite suddenly, pushing open the door with breathless anticipation.

It's more than he expected, books climbing up the walls as he walks through. Had Rapunzel found this yet? he wondered, pulling down a few things without even looking at their titles. This is one place he won't steal from, so the woman watching him at the counter just gets a charming smile as he sets his armful down onto the least preoccupied table in the reading room.

"Mind if I sit?" he asked, pointedly ignoring her turning the pages with magic - or whatever it was called, already dropping into an empty chair.

Aradia looked up as soon as she heard the voice, not startled so much as interested! And even more bored. After a momentary pause, she smiled her customary smile at him and spoke, her voice polite and also very very teenage.

"Go ahead!" Before returning to the perusal of her current book, she rolled an elastic off her wrist and began the task of putting her hair up in a high ponytail, her eyes rolling up to the unseen task at hand. "I promise I won't bother you."

"It's fine," he waves a hand in dismissal.

The City was a great deal more frightening than he would ever let on and he'd always preferred the company of those younger than him when put into a position where he even wanted it. He opens one of the books, shoving the chair back so that he can prop his boots onto the table.

"Import, right?"
