[James is still a bit tired from the events of the previous night (nothing funny, just the full moon), but he pokes his head outside to offer Lily a glass of lemonade.

When he sees what exactly his wife is up to, he laughs and heads over to wrap his arms around Lily's waist.]

Hello, love.

[Lily would hug him back, but she's holding a monkey, and therefore, her arms are currently occupied. But she grins, and leans a little against her husband, and gives him a kiss on the cheek.]

Hello to you, too.

[He pulls back a little and returns the kiss, smiling.]

D'you want some lemonade or anything?

Lemonade actually sounds nice right now. [She's been out here with the monkey for a while now. Playing with monkey makes a girl thirsty.]

Sirius is here, but as Padfoot. He's been in dog form almost constantly since going away for the full moon. He doesn't seem to be unduly mopey, just... sometimes life is complicated, but it's less complicated when you're a dog, and thus Padfoot.

He seems perfectly happy to follow Lily about wherever she happens to be, and snooze fitfully for brief periods. Hedwig, however, he's not...entirely sure what to do with, but again, life is less complicated when you're a dog, and if this tiny thing is part of the pack now, then it's part of the pack now and that's all there is to it.

Lily is more than happy to have Padfoot follow her around all day. Considering what he told her after she cornered him in the kitchen, she knows that if he needs to be a dog, then he needs to be a dog, and she will let him do what he will (as long as it doesn't involve weeing on the carpets, because that is just not on.).

Once Hedwig, after spending her afternoon running around like a monkey on a sugar high, is asleep, she plops herself down on the grass next to her doggy companion, and scratches him behind the ears. "A bit of sunshine might do you some good. Vitamin D, and all that."

Sirius expresses his agreement by thumping his tail on the ground once and rolling onto his side for tummy rubs.

Lily is a good Lily. And Lily's been in the sun for a while herself, which means she will have more freckles. James is completely useless over Lily's freckles, so he will be happy about this. James and Lily will be happy and everything will be wonderful, even if Lily's hand smells like monkey. That is totally fine.

Lily obliges, and gives Sirius quite possibly some of the best tummy rubs he will ever get. She's had a lot of practice. That, and he's told her exactly the right way to do them.

"You know, most people would think this is a bit weird."

She's only teasing. If she's ever actually thought it's a bit weird that she's sitting here giving her husband's best friend tummy rubs, it's something she got over long ago, and now it's just one of those things that she's used to, like James feeling the need to prance around in Stag form at random moments. She'd never tell him, but it's almost like having a pet dog, but better, really, because, well, there's less maintenance. No daily walks, and cleaning up dog poo out of the yard.

"I have to find some way to keep myself busy, with James and Sirius sleeping the day away." Lily can't help but smile when she sees Remus. He always brings out that reaction in her. A look of worry crosses her face, too, as she takes in his appearance. She knows why he looks like he does, but she will never get used to it.

"Sit, before you fall over. Would you like some tea?"

She nods. "They're asleep upstairs." She busies herself summoning the tea and some food. Remus looks far too thin and tired, and, in Lily's world, the cure for this is tea and food, both of which are things she has readily on hand.

As she's warming up the tea, Hedwig Elvendork decides to make friends with their visitor, and is jumping from Lily to Remus. Lily smiles. "Have you met Hedwig yet?"
