[ Selina knows all about late night crime, albeit of the more traditional variety. However, it's still early enough that she's out to get a simple cup of coffee. And judging by the looks she's getting from some of the men she passes by, she's a little more eye-catching. ]

[ eames takes note of her, just a quick once over out of the corner of his eyes, and his lip quirks upwards in a smile. projection or no, she is beautiful. he falls into step with her. ]

Excuse me, miss, might I ask you for directions?

[ Polite handsome stranger who isn't trying to kill her. How often does that happen? Selina gives him a bit of a smile in return. ]

New in town?

Very.

[ new as in he only arrived three minutes ago. and she's nice, for a projection. either this is his dream, or this really is reality.

he hasn't made up his mind as to which this might be just yet. ]

I don't imagine there's an airport located near by?

[ Sark is in his own class-act all black suit, though this unintentionally accentuates the fact that he looks far too young to be wearing one. He usually looks far too young to be partaking in a number of things, but he'd also prefer that no one notice this.

Staring forward while he walks, Sark is trying to find something to do with himself. He can't stand this, being this bored, not working. Not having any connections. When he's used to near constant acts of putting his life on the line, reading network posts to try to garner information with regards to who he should speak to was making his brain leak out his ears ( ... )

[ interesting. eames stares right back at him, not even attempting to be subtle about sizing him up. the thing that eames does instinctively is assess, pick up little tics and mannerisms, anything and everything that might be useful in the future. he picks people apart without even thinking about it, and sark is given the same exact treatment.

he raises one eyebrow when they draw close, inviting a response, an introduction, even a "don't i know you?" from this man. ]

[ It's truly not as if Sark does anything different when confronted with a person. But when one is trained to keep quiet and observe before reaction, to memorize a person's behavior for the potential of using it against them from the age of early adolescence, it's an automatic response to do exactly that.

Boredom does funny things to people, however. And while Sark wouldn't usually be the first one to find his voice, he supposes he'll suffer through it this time. Especially since maybe it will stop the other man from trying to pick him apart with his eyes, a rather uncomfortable experience, no matter the doer. ]

Are you new?

[ now that wasn't the opening eames had expected. ]

New meaing...?

[ really, he'd expected any number of things. even outright hostility (which would make sense from a projection, provided they were in a dream) would have made sense. new, however...that wasn't something eames knew what to do with. new in town? how would anyone guess that from looking at him? eames hadn't even spoken yet.

unless people came stumbling out of that building with the machine in it all the time... ]

*Kaylee's just coming back late from working in the garage, taking the long way home out of a desire to just get some air and stroll. She's plenty grease-streaked and happily tired, and unlike most of the folk around her casting half-smiles at every stranger she meets eyes with.*

[ eames nods back at her. overly friendly, more so than the others who have passed him on the street. honestly, most people don't smile at strangers. he hitches up his luggage slightly, smiling at her, stepping aside to give her room to pass. ]

*It's just Kaylee's way to be amiable towards, well, everyone. Unless they've given her a very specific and serious reason not to be, and she can't think of many strangers who ever have. But she's pretty sure he's new here - he's got that sort of way about him - and she's slowing her pace a bit just in case he needs to ask questions or some such.*

[ned is heading down the street, gaze firmly affixed to his own feet. he pulls one hand out of his pocket to glance at his watch, nervously watching the seconds tick by like the white rabbit from wonderland. but back in the pocket his hand goes and he continues across, not even seeing the other similarly-dressed man. while eames is dressed for business, ned's clothes are a lazy gray; a light cardigan and slacks.

he doesn't realize until his shoulder dips, impacting lightly with the other man's -- ned looks horrified, pulling back as he looks up from the sidewalk at last. he looks nervous, and broken, like a puppy waiting to be scolded.] I'm s-so sorry, I wasn't paying attention.

Don't worry. No harm done.

[ eames dusts off his shoulder, and adjusts his grip on his luggage. thank goodness he'd only brought a carry on. lugging around anything bigger would have been a completely pain. ]

In a hurry?

[he shakes his head, slowly lifting his gaze off the concrete.] No. At least, I don't think so. Have you ever been in a hurry to get nowhere, or rather, a somewhere that isn't quite a somewhere yet? It seems silly, in hindsight, but there's no place I'd rather be.

Well, not no place. I'd rather be h-home, as I'm sure everyone else would. [again ned looks panicked for having said so many words.]

[He wouldn't be the only one that got ported in. Han, on the other hand, stands out like a sore thumb. Rather
than looking the part of a businessman, he does literally look like he was plopped off of the Star Wars set and straight into the streets of the City. He was used to getting looks, it was never really a big deal to him.

The staring, not necessarily the porting in to another galaxy where he has no wookie, no ship and no princess.] I have a bad feeling about this ....

I believe that might be an understatement.

[ god han just standing next to you is getting eames strange looks by association. ]
