It hadn't taken much for Kurt to convince her to chaperone again this year. Granted, most of her fond memories of last year were of spending the evening with Logan. But she did know plenty of the kids and knew how much they deserved a fun evening. And Kurt was good company and it was an excuse to go shopping.

She'd stopped short of bringing the whip, but her ensemble was clearly meant to intimidate. It's not like she had anyone to dress up for this year. Although she was pretty sure Bruce would be very appreciative of the look if she swung by his place after...

Proms, Zevran was learning, were not good places to practice stealth. Too many people being conspicuously awkward and desperately looking around at the other people being awkward. Still, he did his best to sneak over unnoticed to Selina's side. It was better than staring at the punch bowl making bets with himself over what the other attendees would attempt to slip into it.

"That is an amazing dress," he commented as he approached. "I'm astonished they allowed you in wearing it. You are too terrifyingly beautiful by far--has no one fled yet?"

Selina's lips curled into a smile at the comment. "I'm a chaperone. I'm supposed to be terrifying." She did like the dress though. And it was nice that someone who wasn't young enough to be her kid noticed.

He knows; he remembers, from when he quite inexplicably was one. To be honest, he remembers that a lot when he's talking to Selina, even if he would never admit it. "Oh, then you don't mind a bit of cruelty now and then. It's not so bad. A cat thing, yes? You pull it off with style."

He lifts a brow at her first comment, but doesn't pursue it further. Instead, he shrugs and does his best to answer her question. "I was told there would be adults here as well." A beat. "And I see no reason to ignore an opportunity to learn more about my fellow imPorts. Even if the music is...somewhat lacking."

He likes that "Bad Romance" song, though.

John is wearing what appears to be British Punk-era chic, and looks like he's hardly intimidated by beautiful women anymore. Though he only knows Selina by deed and alter-ego, he feels like now is as good a time as any to get introductions over and done with.

He'd have a need for her, later on.

"That dress come with a bloody sword, luv?" he asks smiling once he's close enough for her to see it. "Or are you saving that for the after party?"

She had no idea why he'd be here otherwise. His reputation didn't really fit with chaperoning proms.

"She hasn't sent me home yet, so I 'spose so." he answered, ignoring the quip. He and Zatanna were...complicated. "Don't see any other bloke around here that could be mistaken for a Constantine, either."

He chuckles underneath his breath. "Though I can't see why any sane person would want to be."

Selina shrugged; she only knew a little bit about him, mostly the reputation that tended to float around back home. "You've been in and out a few times, haven't you?"
